GHII
I've installed my 7000, and noticed the "My Vehicle" was greyed...even after being install with the iDatalink Maestro. They made a BIG whoop dee doo about being Maestro compatible this year and it was THE reason I chose this combination and not last years 8" Alpine with a standard harness. I called iDatalink and I was told the Pioneers idatalink firmware doesn't exist/is not ready and EVEN WHEN IT IS WILL NOT DISPLAY ANY DATA (Gauges, tire pressure, batt levels, etc..) EVER, he said the Pioneer units can only do retention, ie steering wheel controls and onstar/sync. This is the exact quote stated from CES 2014: "And last but not least, we added in a feature from a company called iDatalink, and it works with their Maestro module, which for the first time lets this (NEX) talk to your car. You can see things like TIRE PRESSURE, LIKE VEHICLE STATUS INFORMATION THAT WOULD USUALLY DISPLAY ON YOUR VEHICLE." That is a direct quote from pioneer. LIES. iDatalink says no and the NEX units will never be able to that. So you're telling me Pioneer added the Maestro input in the back just for steering wheel controls??? And the My Vehicle button will always sit greyed out never being able to be used? The guy at IDL said only the Kenwoods and this years Alpines would do the exact thing Pioneer said the nex units would do. Top this off with the 8000 shipping fiascos Im done with Pioneer, can't wait for Alpine to release their units in june.
GHII
Nobody has wanted to use the idatalink module to get car data displayed? Surely I can't be the only one...
tekki
I get my 8000 installed tomorrow, I think that feature would be cool, but it's not a deal breaker for me if it doesn't work. I just hope the rest works as advertised, or some quick fixes in the near future.
GHII
The reason I wanted it was because the 2013 and lesser GM models look so outdated and non-techie..And just putting a standard DVD unit in has a very aftermarket feel to it...By integrating car data into the nav unit it unifies the car and head unit and makes it feel factory and look like one of the newer GM models. Rodawg
I talked to Brian over at Idatalink and he told me that once Pioneer releases a firmware update it will display all the vehicle information (guages, tire pressure etc...)

I guess we shall see when the firmware comes out.
VBLUE42
It stands to reason that a firmware update from Pioneer will fix this issue. This is common to release a unit before its ready with the intention to update later. Been done many times by Pioneer so try and relax and just see what happens. Iammurph
Guys I owe you an apology. Pioneer will not have the full features like Alpine and Kenwood. 2014 NEX models – AVIC-8000NEX, AVIC-7000NEX, AVIC-6000NEX, AVIC-5000NEX, AVH-4000NEX. These units will be compatible with all of our solutions to retain factory systems (except our Mustang dash kit), but they do not have gauges, climate control (this is why you can’t use the MUS1), vehicle info or parking assist screens. Brian Murphy Thanks for clearing that up, which is exactly why Im buying an Alpine when they release in June. Pioneer should be ashamed to have touted iDatalink Maestro compatibility with vehicle data displayed and then completely not have that happen, even with future updates, ridiculous. Brian - Why did Pioneer go through all the trouble of making the NEX units Maestro compatible if they knew it was never going to happen? They even kept the "My Vehicle" button in the source menu..which now you tell me will always sit greyed out. Did they ever have an operating unit that showed vehicle data? Were they just simulating this function at CES?

VBLUE42
Per your complaints on the navi, have you selected "Text to Speech" in the navi settings?
