Juice925
Since this is a first generation product there might be some bugs or problems. but if you do not buy the D3 from an authorized reatiler, and instead buy it from ebay, if something goes wrong, do you still have a warantee on it that pioneer can uphold? aznsmartass24
No, they wont give you that 1 year warranty. Also, this is the 3rd generation product, with the D1 being the first.
Juice925
So i am basically SOL if the thing defects?
hybridamp
It's simple really. Buy from authorized pioneer retailer = 1 year warranty with manufacturer Buy from unauthorized source (eBay) = no warranty with manufacturer
T
so is this thing shits the bed, was it worth the 50 bucks you saved by not buying from an authorized dealer?
Guest THE OP
Get her from Crutchfield. They will honor the 1Yr warranty. Spend a few bucks more, its worth it.
Juice925
I just got an idea, will this work? I added the three items to my cart to get the discount from crutchfield, and printed out the shopping cart with the new price. Now could I go to a brick and mortar store and say price match? NOIRtist
Yeah, I did that at my local sound advice. I'm kickin my own ass now tho because they got delayed til the 9th, which means i wont see it til the 12th. Had i just ordered it instead of printing out the form I would have mine already. Juice925
What stores should I go to, is sound advice a local thing for you or a chain?
NOIRtist
My bad, its called Tweeter everywhere else. Goto Tweeter.com and see if there's one near you. Otherwise, try to find another authorized dealer that will price match.
hybridamp
Yeah, I agree with NOIRtist. I went with a pre-order a local store and they still have no clue when they will get the units in; however, I did try to get a few online stores that had them in stock to pricematch Crutchfield and none would. Reach
Well, if you intend on bypassing the unit, you can kiss your 1 year warranty goodbye anyway, so I'd rather have the discount. Just my 2 cents.
jaytrey
what if i buy the 3 year warranty from cf? does that help much? do you guys recommend it? 3 years for 80 bucks seems pretty good. any thoughts?
Guest THE OP
Went to tweeter yesterday and they would not match the $849 price. Guess they lost a deal.
whtcrxghst
There is no way they could tell if you had bypassed your N1, D1, D2, or Z1 so your warranty was still good. What makes you think the D3 will be any different? Well, if you intend on bypassing the unit, you can kiss your 1 year warranty goodbye anyway, so I'd rather have the discount. Just my 2 cents.
