kelkin
Is it me or does call quality seem horrible using CarPlay? It sounds like a heavily processed low sampled mp3.. Anyone else experiencing this? -Keith
raffoul
Yes the quality is lower for me using CarPlay. It seems possible because the protocols used are not the same.
carfanatic
Yes same here. I actually removed my phone from the lightning cable in the middle of the phone call and it sounded better like it used to before CarPlay. What I noticed after plugging phone back into the lightning cable was the 8000NEX unit's bluetooth icon shows no connection. So, when connected to CarPlay, I don't think phone calls are going through the headunit's bluetooth. When I got to work I double checked. My phone, while not connected to Carplay, is connected to the NEX's bluetooth. As soon as I plug in my iPhone into the lightning cable, the bluetooth connection between the iPhone and NEX unit is dropped. When I unplug the phone from the lightning cable the bluetooth connection is restored.
DP3343
Really? I swear it sounds nicer....
TheEdge
Mine seems to be worse as well, but it's too soon to say for sure. The best description I can use is it sounds a tad metallic... Call quality is a bit hit and miss for me normally, so time will tell.
