Mosh1
Can someone give me a walk-through on burning a background disc onto a single-layer DVD? I used the steps in the sticky, but still no help. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks guys.
titansu
The sticky can't be written any clearer... 1. Extract you current NAV disc in .ISO format 2. Browse the .ISO and delete all "POI" files under /IDX/ 3. Replace/add the backgrounds you need 4. Save .ISO 5. Burn

zride
How do you make the image file fit on a regular DVD? After I removed the poi files, added mine and saved it the size of the iso was 4.8 gigs and would not fit on a regular dvd. Are there any other files I can remove to reduce the size?? action
Just my .02 but: a) shouldn't you be burning to a CD and not a DVD? I know it works on a CD, but I'm not sure if it works on a DVD. Of course, I have a Z1 so maybe that's the part I'm missing. zride: You must be pretty computer savvy and able to figure this out as your sig looks suspiciously like SQL script. zride
Yeah, you're right, I will figure it out. Just thought you guys had an answer. They say never reinvent the wheel Anyway, for cd's it has to be at least 1.8 megs of data in order to read. It also reads dvds according to the manual -- must be 170 megs i think. zride
By the way, this is for the D3. Does this process even work for the D3?? Here is what it says in the manual When you burn a CD-R/-RW and DVD-R/- RW, make sure the total data size of the CD-R/-RW and DVD-R/-RW is greater than the amount noted below by storing dummy data or other filler information. Otherwise, the disc may not be recognized by the built-in DVD drive. — CD-R/-RW: 1.8 MB — DVD-R/-RW: 170 MB
JasonH
You can only burn jpeg CD's for the Z's and N's. With the D's, you have to delete the POI files, and add your custom pim files to the pim2din folder.
zride
R U Sure? That's not what the manual states. The manual for the D series (D3) says that you can burn jpeg images to a CD or DVD and it should read it.
zride
Figured it out. You CAN record to a CD with JPEG images. you just have to be SURE that there is a /PICTURES folder with <20 jpeg files and that the full size of the disk is >1.8 MEGS thats it. Simple. Done. PaisanNYC
Ummm how would you be able to search for anything if you deleted all the POI files? Geez. Just pay the $5 and get a dual layer dvd-r to burn an exact copy!
