bmuhlfeld
Is there any way possible to trick the parking brake into thinking it is always off. I feel as if the bypass procedure for the new Avic-d3 will cause problems down the road and cause the unit to fail??? What do you guys think????????
audilover08
Haha. You've got to be kidding me...are you on crack?
hybridamp
roflmao I think the guy above summed up my response well also.
bmuhlfeld
You tell me why that is an unreasonable questions. One person in one of these forums already claimed the bypass worked for a week on his d-2 and then the unit stopped working all together. Explain to me how thats a stupid question you jackass. MisFit
maybe a jerked off install
bmuhlfeld
he said he grounded the parking brake wire, moved up the yellow black mute wire 1 slot and grounded that also. He said he grounded them to the same screw. Does that matter?
Reach
cause stupid people ask stupid questions. now, lets see, do you think it could have anything to do with how a person installs it? hrm....... a grounding bypass wont fry a unit. a bad install will.
bmuhlfeld
theres a difference between being stupid and just not being familiar of certain things.

crapz1
If it will make you feel better. I've had my AVIC-D1 parking brake grounded for almost 2 years. Works just as advertised. I'm installing the D3 this weekend, so it worked long enough until the next upgrade.

whtcrxghst
You realize there are probably over 100,000 D1,2,3s out there and alot of them are bypassed? You just happened the find the one moron on a chat room who did the bypass and by coincedence it stopped working. Could be hundreds of reasons why it happened but the bypass is not one of them
