witchrobin
Does anyone know if the illumination wire on the D3 expects a +12V or ground to switch to night mode? My 2006 Mazda MX-5 has 2 lines for illumination. One is called Pulse Dimming and one is called Inverted Dimming. Trying to figure out which to use. Thanks!
cntrylvr79
+12 volts
maddmike
it looks for 12 volts and on your car its the light green/red wire that will be in the wiring harness
witchrobin
Thanks guys. Any idea on where the VSS wire is on my car? I have been looking around for the last week and still no luck. My MX-5 has a Bose system.
coocho
the illumination gives 12 volts while on and 0volts while its off.
cntrylvr79
Speed Sense white (except BOSE) ac radio harness or cluster that's all if have listed. Nothing for your car with bose.
witchrobin
Yeah, i found out that the non-bose unit has the vss in the radio harness. Still trying to locate it for bose system. Thanks anyway. Guess i need to keep looking. How much functionality will i lose if i don't connect the vss?
cntrylvr79
A couple of the vehicle dynamics gauges won't work, that's pretty much it.
mistsc
Another illumination question. I just installed a D3 in my 06 G35 coupe. The orange wires I connected up are going to an empty spot on the car connector. Does anyone know what color car wire and on what harness?
MisFit
should be red/black. if not in radio harness, try 4 pin green plug on top of passenger fuse box on the g35
