tillithz
cool, they do sell a replacement power supply that runs on 12 volts.
sportsfan21
Sounds good. Just don't forget that unless you're using wireless controllers, the controller wire is going to be coming from behind you. That would annoy me personally.
Two_Cold
I have the same set up in my Mustang. D2 though. I went with wireless controller to avoid the cable. Works perfectly. I also opened the Xbox, spliced in a stitch to the power switch and mounted it in my center console. That way I can turn the unit on and off from in the car. I didn't know they have a 12 volt adapter though. I used a 150 watt power inverter.
tillithz
Right on! I meant they have a new power supply.. like you take out the old one and put in a new power supply on the inside of the xbox, it is dc, not ac. sorry if i mis spoke.
sportsfan21
Is there any advantage to this tillithz? Because it just seems a lot easier to use a power inverter, unless there is some other advantage to using the new power supply.
tillithz
well, just from personal experience..... I think that the unit designed for/as an xbox power supply would allow far less noise in, be more efficient, and take up less space. Afterall, the unit wouldnt require the back and forth conversion from ac to dc.Though you couldnt run other things off of it likely.
sportsfan21
Makes sense. I have a truck so I also forget about considering how much space something will take up.
