nexus24
when I ground the parking break lead does it have to be by itself or can it be with the other grounded wires?
Slody4Futbol
it doesn't matter... just ground them all... it's EASIER to do it together... but if you want to ground one to your battery, then your parking brake wire to your cigarette lighter, then the mute wire to a beam in your roof do that... in the end... it all goes back to the negative battery post

necro
Be sure you are actually grounding it and not just attaching it to a ground wire that isn't grounded to something. In my car (03 mustang) I just used wire taps to connect the parking brake, mute wire, and bluetooth ground to the black ground wire from the wiring harness. In fact, my harness has two ground wires, chassis ground and amp ground. I used chassis ground but it really doesn't matter. Ground is ground.
Layd Dly
mine are all grounded to my stereo harness ground no point in running more cables and making a bigger mess.

In your case there's a big difference between amp ground and chassis ground. The amp ground is a ground input for the factory amp if the car has one. In other words, not a true ground. necro
Good thing I didn't use that one! So you are saying that amp ground doesn't ground?
cntrylvr79
That wire must go to ground in order for the factory amp to turn on.
nexus24
CONFIRMED it does work. somehow my wire came loose and it looked as if it was in yet it never clicked in. The ground wires were fine it was just the mute wasn't fully placed in.
