coweyeboy
I have XM Navtraffic and the Avic`Z2 working perfect. The only questions I have is how it works. Does the reroute option only kick in if the traffic/construction/etc. is going to conflict in the path of my destination? Does it reroute automatically so that I don't have to be clicking too many buttons while driving? Thanks for the help guys!
PaisanNYC
If you have a route/destination set, when the unit receives unwelcome traffic flow data, it will alert you, and ask you if you would like to reroute. At this point you choose yes or no to reroute.
coweyeboy
Thanks, appreciate it, I think I saw on XMradio though that only certain states do incident and flow and some do incident only. Now if Las Vegas only covers incident only it won't reroute me wll it?
PaisanNYC
That's a good question. Unfortunately I don't know. Sorry Here in NYC i get both flow and incident. Actually looking at the market coverage for NavTraffic, it shows Fairfield CT has incident coverage only, but when coming home from New England, i remember being asked to reroute around the Fairfield area. Pook
don't mean to hijack your post, but Paisan... have you compared xm navtraffic to sirius traffic?
PaisanNYC
have you compared xm navtraffic to sirius traffic? Sorry I haven't. I think Sirius traffic is only compatible with a few Alpine units and some OEM units if I'm not mistaken.
RPyfrom1
You must have the NVE-872A and either D310, D100, D105, W200, W205, or Vehicle Hub Pro for the Sir Traffic to work on the Alpines. And i dont know of any OEM that uses the Sir Traffic. Unless its a BMW and that would figure... Ultimate Driving Machine
free_refil
I have only incident reporting on my unit in the Hampton Roads area of VA. Unfortunately, it will show you the traffic condition list, but will NOT alert you of traffic conditions on your route. I can have it routed right down an interstate and see the icon of a car flipped over coming up ahead but the unit does not alert me that there is an accident at all. BTW, I have an N3, but I believe they all work the same...
