mykal41
All hooked up. D3, kicker sx650 amps, 2-kicker vr-10,.6x9's, 5 1/4's. I used a dual amp kit, I have an engine noise with no volume. It sounds like my fuel pump. Should I move my groud.
RPyfrom1
Wouldnt hurt. And if no volume how do you know there is engine noise...
mykal41
It makes the noise with volume down.... engine off
RPyfrom1
Then i doubt its the fuel pump.
tillithz
faulty equipment is likely the cause.. if wiring is good
RPyfrom1
my money is on the install job...
mykal41
I switched the ground around, I even went as far as to run a cable to the batt for the neg. I swaped the amps ( highs and subs) They both make the noise, However with the low pass filter on the noise is gone. I retraced my wiring on the radio. No power wires cross rca or speaker wires. I added a ground to the radio itself. still no help. by no means am I an installer, But I am not an idot. I am just looking for some friedly advice. Do they make a filter of sorts that would fix this.
tillithz
low pass filter is on the noise is gone? whats that? dont run a ground to the battery, make sure power and ground are same size
mykal41
power and ground are the same. I have the ground to the chassis right now. Its a good clean ground. I am going to increase the radio ground size today. Maybe I will just add a good chassis ground to the radio ground. How about grounding the little wire that runs with the rca's. Just throwing things out there.
scrupul0us
How about grounding the little wire that runs with the rca's. depends on your RCA's some amp kits provide that wire as the remote to turn your amps on now, the RCA's i have are monster and they provide a little wire fray on one end to ground the cable two different things
