AVICBud
Hi, I recently had a D3 and GEX-P10XMT professionally installed in a 2006 Honda Pilot and of course most of the traffic info on the main menu "Info/Traffic" is grayed out except "Traffic on Route" is available after setting a long route and waiting about 5 minutes. Then a list comes up (even while driving) that you can scroll thru but it is very dim and can only be seen at night. If you stop and put on the parking brake this screen becomes brighter making it easy to read. This may be a software glitch; why give you access to this button and then make all the data to dim to read in daylight. I'd prefer not to pull out the head unit to rewire the main harness if just grounding the parking brake will give me the extra XM Nav Traffic information. I do not need to play or watch DVDs or Videos while I'm driving so all I need (Besides the regular map w/traffic flow which works great) is the handy "Traffic on Route" list (Made brighter like when p.brake is on) on the Info/Traffic menu. Anyone know if this will work just grounding the D3 parking brake wire and not messing with the main wiring harness wiring? Thanks
epyon02
the d3 only gives partial control unless the e brake is on, to do what you want bypass the unit, software designed so u dont mess with it while driving, check d3 bypass, it is very easy
