gmoney863
I want to mount the metal plate for my xm antenna and gps antenna on vinyl (on a surface underneath my rear hatchback window). I don't want to use the adhesive bottom of the metal plate because I heard that it's really permanent and if you remove it it can leave marks on vinyl. I'd like to have maybe a velcro surface for the metal pad with a non-permanent adhesive on the bottom of the velcro surface (I hope this makes sense, it's hard to explain), but any other non-permanent adhesive that will stick to vinyl will work for me. Any ideas? Thanks guys for all of your help on my successful install.

cntrylvr79
3m double sided tape will work for you. Just make sure you get the stuff with the red backing. The tape itself is a dark gray in color and about 1/16" of an inch thick. It'll stick well and with an alchocol pad will remove any residue left when you remove the tape. 2MCHPSI
Best Buy's all across the country use the 3M double-seded stuff. Go to your local BBY and ask them for a couple strips, better yet, just bring the pad with you and tell them you just want the bottom of the pad covered.
Two_Cold
I've used clear silicone. Just a dab and it will hold. When you are done just peel it off and wipe the vinyl off. It comes in a tube like tooth paste and is called Silicone II.
