Upgrade for Z1

Does anyone know if the upgrade for the Avic Z1 is out yet? My map database is becoming outdated, and Pioneer said there would be an update coming out this sprint. Well...Spring is here...and I still don't see any update from Pioneer. Any info would be appreciated.

It's not out yet. Unless you have a friend with a Z2 and would let you copy his hard drive. I have a feeling the update for the Z1 will make it a Z2.

Does that mean the current bypass would stop working?

That is what most people believe will be the case.

Yah, bobmun is right, we don't know. We think it will but we don't know if it will or not. But the last update for the Z1 changed the bypass from one thing to another. The Z2 is the same device with new software and we have tested that the bypass does not work with the Z2. It also does not work with the Z1 with a Z2 hard drive. We already know they can change the bypass with an update to the Z1. It's not a hard jump to think that the next update will change it again, and to what the Z2 has (which right now seems like no bypass, or we just haven't found it yet).

I did not even try, it involves cutting your gps ant wire and installing a switch. It is described in detail on this board.
