Audibeer
Looking for a color coded wire for a 02 a4 for the IGNITION CONTROLED wire in the sunroof module. I'm hardwiring a V1 and want it to be able to turn off and on with ignition. I know I can wire it to the sunroof wires, but then it's always on and I have to physically turn it off. I don't have access to a voltmeter though. Any help?
cntrylvr79
First things first what does this have to do with a z1/2? Second get a multi meter. This way you don't make a very expensive mistake.
action
And get the shop manual for your vehicle. it'll give you the answer.
tillithz
why grab the ignition from the sunroof, its likely an accessory anyways, since its not necessary to be ignition while starting vehicle like say the fuel pump. Anyways, why not just get an accessory or ignition from say the main stuff? key cylinder .. that kind of thing
Matt Zorn
the "Z" is kinda close to the "V" on the keyboard.???? Many installers will tell you not to mess with sunroof wires because you have to intereface directly with the motor wires. good luck
installthis06
the "Z" is kinda close to the "V" on the keyboard.???? Might as well have been P1
cntrylvr79
The op could have been talking about a valentine V1 radar defector.
jbhorne
I think you might want to hand this project over to an MECP certified professional. Just a thought... BTW, an ohmmeter is a must, not an option to install a "V1".
installthis06
uhmmm yeaa we're going to suggest just the cigarette lighter if its a valentine..or take that over priced garbage back and get an escort...literally, and one with big knockers at that
jbhorne
Oh, I got it now. I thought he mistyped Z1. He wants to hardwire the radar detector to the sunroof wires because they are so close to the front windshield. LOL. Well you definitely need an ohmmeter still. installthis06
also a mecp master technician, ase master technician and emergency vehicles..ha joking
jbhorne
BTW, I guess I will start the fourm here. Why not... What do you guys think about Valentine's? I personally have a Beltronics STI Driver (their top-end unit), but find it to false all the time. It falses in the same areas, so I just get used to the town. What do you think about the new Escort that has GPS and locks in falses? 9500 is it? Why is speeding so expensive! I ought to get back money when they have to drop their donut and chase me down. I'm helping their cholesterol which in turn keeps them out of the hospitals. It's not fair!
installthis06
Just get an x50 and get a laser shifter. You can catch radar soon enough and it stops the laser signal. Game over
shotgun_customs
The K40 CalibreDL is nice. Gotta love the LED display w/ voice warning.
jbhorne
Shit thats nice. Where is the radar sensor? I'm guessing no annoying bouncing box on your windshield?
