Has navigation improved in Z2 over Z1??

Navigation in the Z1 is totally unreliable in my neck of the woods. Here is an example of just how bad it can get:

 

 

The checkered flag was registered on a previous visit to that location. I've since been back there a couple of times and still, when I input my destination to that checkered flag the Z1 tells me to go past my left turn towards 'GO Home' and make a 53 Km detour over MACTIER and BALA.

 

Is the Z2 any better when it comes to navigation?

 

And what about the voice commands?

 

The first time I tried voice command in the Z1 I was thrilled that it came up with a route to the destination I had verbally input.

Turns out that was my lucky day because since then the bitch doesn't seem to understand anything that I tell her.

 

Has Voice command improved in the Z2?

 

If it's improved to the point that it is actually usable then I would have no need for the bypass and would be quick to upgrade.

 

UPDATE Here is how the Z2 routes to that same location. No more 53 km detour. Go directly to goal.

 

Unfortunately almost all other unexplainable detours are unchanged.

Voice recognition works fine for me, noticeable improvement over the Z1 ymmv. It probably depends on mic placement and background noise. Navigation also works fine for me although I live in a major metropolitan area. I have not noticed any difference over the Z1 in the navigation.

I haven't had any navigation problems like yours (sorry but it's really funny ) but I live in L.A. and the Z2 might have more accurate maps for this area

The thing that's funny is that the maps are totally accurate. It's the direction that are screwed up. I've had it in downtown areas such as Toronto that it accurately displayed the destination but in the given directions Mrs. Navi tells me to take a trip around the block before I get there.

I swear the bitch has a mean-streak in her.

I think she tries to always make it so your destination is on the right side of the vehicle. She often tells me to make a U-turn and turn right, instead of just turning left against oncoming traffic, or takes me around the block in downtown areas

Ok, heres the real story behind the false directions she gives you. She is actually employed by the big oil companies. Her job is to simply make your trip longer so that your gas consumption increases. Thereby increasing the frequency in which you purchase petrol. Which, obviously, makes them more money. Pioneer is in cahoots with the oil companies and is doing their part to insure those companies continue their world domination because Pioneer gets its kick backs in the form of high priced porn stars and booze.

 

Its a sick circle of lies. Oh, and of course (like was said earlier), the directions are given by a woman so thats a double wammy right there.

It's not a Toronto problem, I've had the same thing happening when I drove to Wellesley (Boston). Others have complaint about it as well. That 53 km detour is the worst I've seen though.

 

I'm still trying to find out if this has improved in the Z2.

 

If you have one just move your cursor to that same spot 142 km N, Nw of Toronto and make it your destination. Then zoom in on the destination and see if she still gives you that same idiotic detour instead of turning left towards GO HOME (Potter's Landing).

I've tried a Z-2 in my car a couple of weeks ago to find out for myself if those problems were corrected.

 

The answer is: NO

Whatever misdirections you get in the Z1 you also get in the Z2.

The same goes for VOICE recognition. If the Z2 understands a word then the Z1 understands that word too.

 

I took it back because I'm better of with the bypassed Z1.
