nbpdjc
alright 2 simple questions for you guys. ive had the z1 for about 6 months now and just hooked my laptop up to the av input so i can monitor my engine management while driving without having to look over at a laptop in the passenger seat but was wondering if it is possible somehow to have the audio from another source still playing while it shows the video from my laptop? question 2 is about my xm. it works fine but for some reason if i go to menu-->information-->xm status is shows disconnected and no signal and doesnt show the xm id. i called pioneer about this and he said to try resseting the z1 and the xm tuner (GEX-P920XM btw) but still didnt fix it. really not a big deal but seems kinda dumb to me. 00vdub
not sure about the xm problem, but the laptop deal should work, because it is dual zone.
whtcrxghst
For your XM, I believe it requires the data cable of the traffic tuner to display that info. Since you don't have the traffic tuner, it just says not connected. Should still work fine
ducatiboy
I might be mistaken, but this might be hard. It won't work the way you have it, because when you have it into the AV input, you are telling the Z1 that you want the video (and audio) from your laptop to be what's playing. The rear AV output can have the DVD player being outputted while you are doing this because it's dual zone. But by the way this is being hooked up, you are telling the Z1 that your "primary" zone is the laptops audio and video. I don't know how you would be able to view the video from the laptop on the aux and listen to something else in the Z1 at the same time.
shotgun_customs
You could run the video output from your laptop to the reverse cam input of the Z1, that is if you're not using it for a camera. Then you can select split screen mode from the map screen or run it full screen with a toggle switch on the reverse trigger wire of the Z1. The only thing is it will have the "reversed image" warning at the bottom of the screen.
nbpdjc
yeah i knew i could do it with the rear cam but i do have a reverse cam installed. and the pioneer help guy did say he thought it might be because i dont have the navtraffic module but he wasnt sure. thanks for the replies guys.
