HiFiSi
Well yeah... headphones don't have video, so the headphone jack probably doesn't output video. Give it a shot!
Mi-Black_Pearl
haha got really excited and went out there to give it a try right away. well although it didnt work, it was almost like a teaser because it would seem like I would almost have it switching the around the cables in every possible combination through trial and error but still no clear display of the video that i was using as a test. it's definitely the cable itself though because i even tried testing it using a television (which go figure i should have just done so beforehand instead of unscrewing and screwing my dash). nonetheless, the creative cable is needed guys, or well at least i really hope so because i have just ordered it ... Julius
I have the W. Did you by pass your D3? It will not show a picture unless it is or the car is stopped and emergency brake applied.
Mi-Black_Pearl
yup, as posted before, it's already by-passed and again im not using the right cable...besides i dont think id be attemtping to play with wires and whatnot all while driving lol...bottom line = creative cables (hopefully being the only case)... Julius
I just reread your thread and if it wouldn't show a picture on your tv then its your cable.Mine came with a cable.
Julius
I'm curios as to what type of cable you're using. If you're using an audio cable it will not work because the one eighth plug isn't setup for video. You need an one eighth plug to red/white/yellow end cable.
HiFiSi
Well obviously, or the cable he's using wouldn't have a video output to hook up in the first place...
Julius
You got me on that one. I had to laugh at myself when I reread my entry!

MikeAWood
I plugged my Zen Vision W into the AV1 input on the rear of the unit and hid the cable under the center console. (I used the AV cable that came with the unit). Works great.
B.Charles
I have my creative zen w connected to the front of the D3. Pioneer sells a cable that allows video through the front of the unit. You can buy that cable off of ebay or amazon. You plug your av cords that came with your zen player into the cord (female) supplied by pioneer. I play my video that way with no problems. Furthermore, I also have my xbox hooked up the same way. I have a remote control for my zen so it is just as easy to use as the touchscreen for me. Only negative is that you will have a cord hanging down from the unit while it is in use. No biggie.
HiFiSi
If you're just using an adapter cord to plug RCA inputs into the port on the front of the D3, you should just put an extension on the RCA inputs from the back of the unit and hook whatever up to that, at least that way you don't have a cable hanging out the front of the radio. Mi-Black_Pearl
i still have no picture/video even with the creative cables . it cant be the cables because i even tested them using a tv which work perfectly. I checked the wiring and everything is hooked up. afraid im missing something or perhaps went wrong in the connection of wires somewhere somehow
Julius
I'm going to Circuit City today or tomorrow I'll look at the M model and see where you're going wrong.
Julius
I went to Circuit City and wouldn't you know they didn't have a M model Zen player on display.I'm going to another one Saturday so I'll check there. On my Eclipse I have a VTR button to push to display the video. Is it automatic or is there a video button of some sort you need to press before you can display a video on the D3 ?
