gilgner
Hi All, I've read almost every post/forum I can find and have seen mixed feedback on the VSS for volkswagens 2006 Jetta TDi: Need: VSS Wire Colour, Location, Analogue or Digital and Need? ~ Pioneer AVIC D3 What colour is wire (blue/white, white/blue, purple white)? Is cluster best place for connection? Accuracy results without? Thanks

gilgner
Thanks TNC. It appears as though the thread refers to using an adaptor. I'm hoping to go direct from AVIC to VSS (assuming its analgue). Is this possible? How can I tell which is pin # 3. Unit is great except for signal in my area (lots of trees, buildings etc) want VSS to help with positioning
tnc99
You will need a adaptor between the can-bus connection to iso. Then a direct connection from VSS to AVIC There is small numbers on the blue connector The VSS will with garantee make your positioning better The VSS is an analoge pulse Sorry 4 my bad english
94explorer
Can you use the wheel speed sensor, right at the hub? does the 2006 have a abs sensor at the hub to can tap to? my two cents.
tnc99
When you write "hub" do you mean the connection behind the radio?? http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/METRA_XSVI_9003.html
94explorer
Your hub is behind your wheels, and tires. I would use the front wheels. Your ABS system in your car also uses a speed sensor system. Most cases its a two wire system, at the hub. I don't know what wire you would use, or if it will work this way. But it is worth looking in too. You have to take your tire off to get to it. But I would again look around to see what others have tryed. Check out VWvortex.com go in to the forums, and look for your car. I would also, if I were you. Make a user name at the vortex! You'll find emence help for your vw there! Goodluck, hope this helps
