JohnnyBighead
I have sucessfully made the bypass but i am having a little problem. When i pulled the mute wire out of its original spot i think i may have flattened the little piece that sticks out and allows it to clip into the harness. Now it will fall out every once in a while and i would to stop with the whole dash take of thing. Is there a way i can reapir this piece, or should i try to find a new one or what? any help you can give me would be amazing!
cntrylvr79
Try rebending it back into position. If that doesn't work, a smalldab of silicone will work. I wouldn't used any other type of glue since they conduct electricity. Oh an obiviously make sure the glue has set completely before reconnectin g the harness.
JohnnyBighead
sounds great, i will try that tommorow. i guess it just needs a little of a lip to catch right? i honestly dont remember how it should look, but thanks for your help!
HiFiSi
If the connector is totally screwed, you can just bypass the harness and splice the two wires together directly. Just use bullet connectors so you can separate them if you need to take out the unit.
