I used a tap in connector in to that wire right before the plug to the ECU. I took the tap off.. wire is still intact and I reset the CEL and no problems. Seems that everytime I tap it, it causes it to happen. I will take pics tommorow. I also had a ODB scanner on when it happens and it shows no reading to VEH speed when the D3 is connected to that wire.

If you have access to a meter, try this. Disconnect and remove the avic from the car. Set the meter to continuity. Now put one probe of the meter to ground. Either the ground wire in the harness or unpainted metal on the car. Make sure the vss wire is disconnected from the wire at the ecm. Put the other probe on the end of the vss wire that you had hooked up to the ecm. you should NOT have any continuity. If you do, then you have a short to ground in the vss wire. Replace or repair it and try again.
