BLinc117 Posted November 28, 2014 Report Share Posted November 28, 2014 I recently installed a NEX8000 in my 2008 Pontiac Torrent. Love the system, the NAV system is one of the best I have seen. CarPlay, well..... it very much feels like an alpha. Thankfully when it decides to freak out falling back to bluetooth only takes a few button presses. I have a few intermittent issues, which I am thinking are not caused by the NEX itself but the interface units. Issue #1 - Steering wheel vol up/down works fine every time, however next/prev track work only sometimes. Often will work if I press a vol button first. Issue #2 - A good % of the time when I turn the vehicle on, the NEX does not even power up/boot up. I have also noticed I dont here the 'chimes' either when this is happening. I have to remove the keys, and try again. I can tell it works when I hear the chimes when I insert the key. I assume this is something with the LAN module, but I have no idea what to do about it!
