joemamma1954 Posted January 5, 2015 Report Share Posted January 5, 2015 Yes you can, another alternative, is putting all your music and videos and pics on a solidstate drive in a usb external drive enclosure. you can also get a sdcard up to 512 gb, format to fat32 and put movies, pics, music. Also how does the unit charge of I'm using mirror link from the hdmi to lightning? Not sure what you are asking here. MirrorLink is only available for Android, and not apple(yet). You can mirror your iPhone, using the apple digital a/v adapter, which will only mirror the screen, if you hit hdmi as input(you will not be able to control your phone thru the head unit tho). The usb to lightning that plugs into the Apple a/v adapter will charge the phone(you do not have to plug it into the usb ports on head unit, using the adapter, because it is only charging the phone, not communicating, you can use a car charger, leaving usb ports open for other use). If you are going to use the digital a/v adapter for app radio, do not touch hdmi as input, just hit the app radio icon. App radio uses bluetooth to communicate with phone, and phone sends audio/video thru hdmi to nex. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
