bgannon21
I just had the D3 installed in my 2003 Jetta GLI and absolutely love it. I am considering pulling it out and doing the bypass, because my installer wouldn't do it for me. The question I have is: if i were to do it using a toggle switch, how/where would I wire the switch? I mean, it is simple enough to do the bypass mute move and 2 wire taps and then ground... but where along that connection line would I put the toggle switch?? would it be after the taps? before them? between them? on the yellow/black wire? on the green wire? on the black wire? between yellow/black and green where tapped? between green and black where tapped? If anyone could shed some light on this, I'd appreciate it. and just as an aside--- I'm sitting here trying to visualize it, but I cant seem to draw a conclusion. I am decently alright with electrical, but by no means is it my forte.
HiFiSi
You would put the switch somewhere on the parking brake wire before it got to the wire tap. So the parking brake wire would come out of the D3, to the switch, then to the ground.
misiek
i agree.... i would put it on the brake wire as well this way its the same as pulling the ebrake up or down but instead ur flipping the switch good luck
