kellyc Posted September 11, 2007 Report Share Posted September 11, 2007 hey guys, I just installed a d3 in my trailblazer and used the gm24hb all seemed to go fine i started up the truck the unit lit up then all of a sudden it just turned off and will not come on again? the fuse looks to be intact and all my vehicle fuses work. when i pull the d3 and reinstall my deck it works.... whats up? kellyc Posted September 11, 2007 Author Report Share Posted September 11, 2007 also now this morning I tried checking the leads on the deck, on the yellow I get constant 12v but not on any other ones if thats normal.....? and also I hooked it up directly to the battery with yellow to pos. and black to negative, and it doesn't light up.... is it fried? autobot152 Posted September 11, 2007 Report Share Posted September 11, 2007 To test the unit you will need to connect both the Yellow and Red wire to 12V. The yellow will have constant 12+ and the red will show 12+ when the car is on or on acc. check to make sure you have a good ground. Sometimes the harness ground wire is not connected on the car's harness. the fact that you can unplug the d3 and plug it back in and it will work makes me believe that it is something wrong with the deck vs fuses.
