  1. wow if the d3 has issues powering up on "Cold" Southern California mornings, I wonder how it will do in Chicago in Feb!!!
  2. Yes, you can just use a splitter to attach 2 headrest monitors. You usually do not need a video signal amp until you get above 4 monitors.
  3. pics of dual zone in action... Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift in the D3 dvd slot playing up front and Gran Turismo 4 playing from the ps2 in the rear. I also just found out that I have speakers built into the headrest.
  4. deviljon, that ps2 dc inverter should be fine. You can always pick up a cigarette lighter extension or splitter then just hard wire wire in the adapter and plug in your ps2 adapter into that. That's how I wired it up since I didn't want to cut up my ps2 adapter in case I wanted to move it into another vehicle. http://www.usascan.com/files/ps2.html http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?Tab ... &U=Strat15
  5. Yup, just go with the DC adapter. It fixed all my line noise issues! I also tried an expensive power inverter ($100+) and it still had the same noise, plus it was HUGE! returned it and ordered the dc adapter and have been noise free ever since. I would also ground the rca shields if you havent already.
  6. Due to the circuitry in power inverters, they make very "noisy" power. Unless you purchase a high quality ($100+) inverter, you will still have the line noise you are experiencing. If you have a PS2 slim, you can pick up a dc adapter for it. That will elimate the excess line noise. I picked mine up from ebay for $20.
  7. Not sure about the N2 since I have a D3 but to test out most radios you will need to connect both the yellow(constant 12V) and red (acc 12V) wire to the battery and the ground to the the negative terminal/ground.
  8. Connecting the 2 wires will solve your problem of your radio powering off during cranking however, if you connect your acc and ignition/source wire to the red wire on the D3 harness, you are then connecting the two positions. You will no longer have an acc position because when you click it to the acc position, 12+ will go to your radio then also go to your ignition/source wire thus creating a short. I tried to do this in my first car (86 ford escort) and found out the hard way. It may be different in your application as the escort was a POS. Give it a try and let us know.
  9. I just finished installing 11" headrest monitors in my car and wired them up to simulate DUAL zone with the D3. This simulation requires an external source such as a dvd changer, dvd player, ps2, etc. The headrest monitors have 2 sets of inputs so I hooked up av1 to the rear video out of the D3 and I hooked up av2 to the ps2. I had to split the ps2 a/v outs so I could connect both the D3 and the headrest monitors at the same time. Now, if I set the headrest monitors to AV1, they work with the D3. If i set them to av2, and use my ps2 to play a movie or play a game, the headrests are now
  10. To test the unit you will need to connect both the Yellow and Red wire to 12V. The yellow will have constant 12+ and the red will show 12+ when the car is on or on acc. check to make sure you have a good ground. Sometimes the harness ground wire is not connected on the car's harness. the fact that you can unplug the d3 and plug it back in and it will work makes me believe that it is something wrong with the deck vs fuses.
  11. I have the same setup. my ipod sits in my glove box and I only remove it to update songs. the d3 will power on the ipod when it is in use and the ipod will hibernate as normal when not in use. The d3 with charge the ipod (which you can also disable in the menu). You don't have to worry about the battery draining if you leave it in your car for extended periods of time because the d3 will always power it via the cable.

People who can't read.... THat's just funny! Mike, enjoy your bose and d3.
  13. my bad. get the ib100 for your d2 http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v ... 23,00.html
  14. Use the CD-I200 to connect your ipod to your d3 via Ibus http://pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v3/pg ... 31,00.html I got mine from Best Buy. No programming, just plug it in and it works great. If your phone has blue tooth, you can install the bluetooth module. It works great for handsfree and also media streaming.

Not sure about the details of your system in your TL. Try one of the TL forums for details on your stereo system. Most BOSE "premium" audio systems from car manufacturers come with amplifiers. That is why they usually sound better than most stock systems. With the amps though, the wiring gets a little tricky.
