New install of old appradio2 HU, connecting 1 out of 10 times, steering controls do not work

Recommended Posts

Hello!

Recently i founf out about this appradio and ARUnchained mod, and I thought i could benefit of it.

I bought a second hand appradio2, which works.

I installed it among a pioneer ca-r-pi.221 (first version) that should make it possible for steering controls to work and also show on the HU display when I change AC settings. This, unfortunately does not work and I do not know why. Anybody has any idea on this?

My car is a 2011 Skoda Octavia 2 Facelift, that previously had a stock Boldero HU that i replaced with the SPH-DA100.

Also, another problem I am facing is that the headunit connects to appradio application on my Sony z3 compact after a LOT of tries and I am not sure why this happens.

I have the HDMI cable connected, bluetooth on, phonecalls work alwasy without any hassle, but appradio app connects only one out of 10-20 tries.

Any hints on this?

I found out what the connection to the phone problem was. If you allow the head unit to get the contacts list, advanced app mode will not work. Anybody trying to connect it should deny access to phone book, and all will work ok, only thing, your contacts won't get displayed on the head unit. But phone calls work!

mine does this too with iphone 6 . apple av adaptor and software updated it will connect to phone bluetooth all the time but it will try and launch appradio and when i accept it nothing happens unless the car has been sitting for a good few hours it seems to connect ok first time then afte that if i switch car off then on again soon after it will not connect to appradio app. this has anoyed me to the stage that the unit is being sold as its a pile of crap
