Improper connection of Parking Brake lead warning?

Recommended Posts

I recently had an NEX 8100 professionally installed and constantly receive the error message:

System detected improper connection of Parking Brake lead.  Please check your configuration for safety.  Please see Operation Manual for more information regarding safe operation.

I was told "this is normal" but I'm beginning to have my doubts after they told me that my Daystar KU80012 rocker switches, that every Jeep owner on the planet uses by the way..., have fundamental design flaws.

Does anyone else see this on every startup?

It is not normal, they did not connect the parking brake wire. If the wire is grounded or disconnected, even with the software bypass, you will get this warning. The proper procedure is to connect the unit according to the install procedure and enable the software bypass.
