mrhappi
Well today I decided to do the firmware update and everything went well. Update finished as it should and unit rebooted itself as per the pioneer directions. Now my issue is that everything works as it should except for my navigation menu. There are only a few options that work: address book, destination history. Quite a few of my options in the menu are no longer working. Would I have to do a system reset or is there something wrong with my unit? By the way I have the bypass hooked up on my system, if that makes any difference.
MPS
is this a Z1 or Z2 do you have the 2 wire bypass done ??? more info is always good
mrhappi
Oh yeah I forgot to mention, I have the Z1 w/ducatiboy's bypass.
whtcrxghst
You need to do the 2-wire bypass. Your old bypass will not work anymore
mrhappi
Well this is the bypass I'm using (http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=166), this bypass will no longer work? And by the way it just doesn't do while I'm moving, even when I'm parked the full menu is not accessible. If it is the circuit bypass then what do I need to do or get to fix this issue? whtcrxghst
Do this one: http://www.sminntech.com/z1flash.html#newbypass
mrhappi
First and foremost, whtcrxghst thanks for all your help. So the new update acts like the bluetooth fix, as in it will disable the circuit? Prior to the new update my system was working great with the circuit for awhile. whtcrxghst
Yep. Other threads on here are reporting that the firmware update required them to switch to the 2-wire bypass method. At least its simple enough to do though
mrhappi
Ok, one more question. To do the 2-wire connection, would I have to remove Ducatiboys bypass circuit? Or would I just leave it still installed?
bobmun
as long as you are in there remove it, but it won't hurt anything to leave it in place.
Sdog
I updated to Z2. Did the 2 wire bypass, did not remove the flash circuit. Everything was working well for about thirty minutes or so. Then the warning about the parking brake came on. Now as long as I am stopped everthing is enabled, as soon as I go about ten miles per hour (or greater) the options grey out.Any idea?
bobmun
sounds like the "secret" wire is loose or not seated properly in the connector, assuming it is in the right slot.
whtcrxghst
Sounds like you didn't bypass correctly. Check your wiring I updated to Z2. Now as long as I am stopped everthing is enabled, as soon as I go about ten miles per hour (or greater) the options grey out.Any idea?
mrhappi
So I have sometime to work on my headunit today. Last question, to those of you that did the 2-wire fix. On the 3rd connector there isn't anything to hold the wire in place. What did you guys use and does it stay in place pretty well? I was thinking of using some type of adhesive, but that doesn't seem like it would hold all to well since my car is pretty bouncy. Any advice would be great.
bobmun
if you follow the illustrated instructions and remove and reinstall the wire properly there is a plastic tab that holds it in place.
