cwirth Posted October 5, 2007 Report Share Posted October 5, 2007 I recently purchased the D3 to install it in my Toyota Matrix. I also bought the Metra harness. The D3 harness has an orange wire marked 'Ill' for illumination. The Metra harness has an orange/black wire marked as 'dimmer'. There is no illumination wire on the Metra harness. Am I to assume that the D3 illumination wire gets connected to the Metra dimmer wire? Quote Link to post Share on other sites

They said that I would have to find the parking light wire to connect to the illumination wire on the D3. Is using the illumination wire necessary? Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Is using the illumination wire necessary? as someone posted in my thread: That wire changes the map from a white backgroung during the day to a black background at night.
