D3 Won't Start Up - Stuck at "Insert CD" screen -

Recommended Posts

I had the D3 professionaly installed about 2 months ago, and did the bypass myself. It has worked fine during this time, until today.

Yesterday, while I was driving I noticed that the navigation icon was about a half a block off from where I actually was. I pressed the "modify current location" button and corrected the icon placement, however I think that sparked the resulting problem.

After doing that, I noticed that the icon was then traveling sideways down the road. When I went to start the car the next time, the screen was all black except for a gray colored box in the middle with the words:

"The disk is being checked."

(after it checks the disk)

"Please insert the correct disk."

(I already have the correct nav disk in there, but I eject it anyway)

"Please insert the appropriate disk"

(I put the correct nav disk back in)

"Please eject the disk and insert the appropriate disk again."

This cycle will go on and on, no matter what I do. I have tried hitting the reset button while there is power going to the unit, and when the unit is off. I have also disconnect the battery to the vehicle and let it sit for 1 hour, then reattached the battery and I still have the same problem. There has been no way to get passed it so I haven't had any music or anything and it's driving me nuts!

Please, can anyone help me?

Thanks,

Brett

took a straw and blew into the head unit to loosen some of the dust that may have got inside. i also cleaned the bottom of the cd....it has a few scratches on it so i think that may be the problem....when this happens if you look into the connections menu it says the satellite cannot be found.......i dunno what to do ...its been working a little better as of late, but this is b.s. man

Those two days of waiting could have gotten it to Pioneer already so they can start fixing it

O look another dick that is on forums.... First off my headunit is out of warranty.... so i was trying to see if there was a free fix out there before i pay 2 hundred bucks for Pioneer to work on it... Ive spent some time on the phone with Pioneer and they say that they cant do anything unless you send the unit in.

Alright, I have spent hours on trying to figure this out and i think I might be onto something. I unplugged the GPS antenna from the back of the head unit and shut off my car and started it back up to start up the head unit and bam! it works.. but of course the GPS is not working.... so i plug the GPS antenna back in and there we go again with the error..... so what it has came down to... is no more GPS :-( But atleast I can use my head unit. Hope this helps
