2008 Honda Element SC install issues

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

been trying to install a D-3 into our new 2008 honda element.

I have 2 questions.

1.) how can we retain the factory subwoofer?

crutcheild said there was "no way" to retain funtionality with

the factory amp and/or subwoofer when I called for technicall assistance, hopefully there is a "work-around" for this.

2.) We thought we had the VSS wire hooked up (blue wire/white stripes behind glove box) but it is not showing that is is hooked up, did we attache top the wrong wire perhaps?

We went with the self install route, after BB completly botchd our install on our suburban. (killed the battery twice, illumination not hooked up, scratched dash, etc.)

Thanks for your help!

That is where we got most of our info.

The VSS is hooked up to, what we think, is the right wire, but we are not getting speed puls

And I was hoping any installers here might be able to give some insight into the VSS and Sub issue.

Also, we cannot seem to get the backup camera to work.

arrghh!

at least we have not toasted amything like BB did on our other car.

Thanks for the insight on the VSS.

it seems as if the guys at the EOC are having a hard time with it as well.

as for the camera, yes, have turned it on via the deck.

played with all the settings, but just in case crutchfeild is sending

another camera out. Not too sure if it us, or the camera. you never know, it was a freebie though...

I know that on my friends Ridgeline we connected the VSS wire to the ABS sensor wire. The Ridgeline does not use a VSS signal. It has been installed for two years and is working fine. Since you did a self install where did you connect the power lead of the camera? Are you pulling constant for continuous viewing and to the reverse line for reverse viewing?
