whit27
Is it possible to hook up an iPod to the D1? If so what is the part # that I need for this to happen. Thanks Whit
HiFiSi
Yes, you can hook it up to the D1 using the composite A/V input. You're going to need one of these cables. You're going to need an ipod car charger as well, unless you plan on taking the ipod out of the car to charge it up somewhere else. Note that you're going to have to use the ipod to control it, as the D1 doesn't have an ipod interface like the D3 does.
whtcrxghst
Or the Pioneer CD-IB100ii. But it will be slow and have limited text and display capabilities
HiFiSi
Oh damn. I thought the D1 wasn't ipod compatible... Nevermind what I posted earlier. His way is better. Both of these will work: CD-IB100II <== This one's the newer of the two, and a hell of a lot cheaper. CD-IB100
whit27
When you say slow and limited capabilities... Is it worth the purchase? or do buy the cable and just use the iPOD to navigate? Thanks Whit
whtcrxghst
If I were you, I would buy the Pioneer one and then find the thread on here about modifying it. If you cut one little wire, you can control everything from the ipod but still get the charging capabilities and run it through the deck
