Pioneer warranty question.

So...I finally got my new D3 fully installed and I love it. Thanks to all those that helped.

I bought my HU off of ebay and I was told that Pioneer wouldn't honor the warranty from units bought from anyone other than authorized dealers. Is this true? If that is the case, I have the option of buying an extended warranty through square trade for like $80. Is this a good deal, and would it be worth it.

 

Is anyone having issues that would be covered under warranty that I would have to otherwise pay for out of pocket?

 

And Yes, i've already heard "if you wanted a warranty, then you should have bought it retail"

How can you get an extended warranty if there's no warranty to extend in the first place?

 

 

OK so I used the wrong words. What they offer is a "Square Trade GPS Care Plan" 3 years for $84. I just wanted to know if it was a good deal. What is a typical repair cost for the most commonly occurring problems?

We can't tell you if it's a good deal unless we know what the warranty covers.

Is it a full replacement no questions asked warranty? Does it only cover repairs of manufacturing defects? Is it a huge ripoff because there's so much double talk in the fine print that they could worm their way out of ever having to cover any repair at all?
