Guest
Hi, I was just wondering whether someone hasn't installed D1 on an Eclipse, it is double din but I tried to install it yesterday and it looks like there is a half an inch gap top and bottom when it is placed into the din. Is there are fix for that? Svetlin
yevgenb
I've installed D2 on my Eclipse (2000). It was a hardest part - I've used plastic frame supplied. It meant to be put on top of the dash if unit unstalled in the flat dash. In order to keep frame in place I used heat to bend plastic locks on the frame. After couple tries it stays and looks nice. bertom2000
i had the same problem. i have a kia optima. what i did was buy a double din install kit made by Metra. I bought mine from ebay but you could probably find one in crutchfield if you knew the part #. do some research using google and you might find a kit for your car. yevgenb
Unfortunatelly there are no double-din metra kits for Eclipse ( or maybe I just haven't found one). There is a bracket that came with Avic that suppose to be installed outside of the dash. I simply installed it under the dash. It covers the hole and made it looks very OEM.
