rrmccabe
This isnt an issue with the Z2 but I have noise in my speakers when no audio is coming from the headunit. I think its picking it up on the low level RCA cable(s). I have monster cable preamp running from the Headunit to the amp in back of truck (trailblazer). This is the 3 pairs in one cable type. I can unplug the RCAs from the amp and it stops. The noise is pulsing and has somewhat of a pattern. I am pretty its computer noise. Any suggestions?
MisFit
did you run yor rca's and power cable down the same side of the car?
rrmccabe
Nope. I ran my 4 gauge power down drivers sill plate and RCA's down passenger side. Both sides have looms from the factory though.
rrmccabe
I read a lot on caraudio.com and it sounds like Pioneer is really bad about ground loops. I made this cable (the wire goes to sheild) and installed it in just one of my RCA lines and noise went away. I still get a few odd noises on and off from heated seats, etc. I plan to do the other 5 !

rrmccabe
Sure, there are several, but this is a long thread and you will see a lot here. http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=198477 Just finished three more. I am not going to worry about subs.
dawgbone
I'd send the unit back....Mine doesn't have it. the only noice I ever hear out of my AVIC is the cooling fans, especially during a phone conversation...and that's really only with the engine off(loud ass GM 6L w/ dual magna's)

rrmccabe
sweet whats the charge Something you might consider is this. http://www.audio-discounters.com/310-460wh.html I would have went this route but did not want to wait. Remove the plastic and add a ring terminal around it and tighten nut. I think this was a better setup but cant find locally.

MPS
and what is the point of that part ? sweet whats the charge Something you might consider is this. http://www.audio-discounters.com/310-460wh.html I would have went this route but did not want to wait. rrmccabe
and what is the point of that part ? Same thing as what I did. Allows you to ground the sheild of the RCAs at the head unit end. In this case you would just remove the plastic piece shown in that picture and use a ring terminal liks this http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:lL7 ... rminal.jpg
