I want to buy an ipod to use on my N3 but I keep reading that firmware and generation models make a difference. GSXR_RCR Posted December 4, 2007 Report Share Posted December 4, 2007 my ipod is almost 2 years old now and it workds fine, the ipod will update to the most recent version when you put songs on it, or it will ask you if you want to upgrade, if you buy any of the newer ipods it will work, if you dont already have an ipod this is nothing to worry about, if you ipod is more than 3 years old then do some looking into this.
