New D3 & N4 Remotes on E-bay for $10 + $5 shipping = $15

Recommended Posts

The recommended retail price for the AVIC-D3 remote is $15.00...

Pretty sure it's gonna be around that price no matter where you go.

Or you could just go to an electronics store and buy it for that much or maybe 5 bucks more and not have to pay or wait for shipping.

are you talking about the CD-R55? I purchased mine on amazon for $22 shipped. The seller some how sent me two so I got em for $11 each heh. Other than the basic track seek and volume buttons. These remotes don't do much. I guess they would do more on a DVD, but I had hoped to be able to switch to the map screen with it.

most of them want $10 plus $10 shipping.

there's too much TRAFFIC in our town to go shopping. it's gridlock all evening. easier just to ebay it, and let UPS vans sit in traffic.

goodness, i hope it does more than RiggZ says, i was kind of disappointed in the button "feel" in the dark last nite.

the ATT button just lowers the volume, i wanted it to cut the sound OFF.

real reason i bought, to mute the unit with one touch.

belay my last....

the remote is useless.

only the top 4 buttons work in most modes:

source, Attenuate (not full mute) and Volume Up/Down.

i was ASSuming the remote would switch between submenus and allow you to quickly adjust the sound (loudness off/on, subwoofer lever, chose EQ field) but it does not.

i have my subwoofer turned up for some radio stations, but some of the other radio stations in town have their bass enhanced, for some reason, so the annoucers all sound boomy and stupid.

was hoping the remote would give me a work around.

it takes several buttons to get in and turn the sub down & back up every day

(usually listen to talk radio/news/traffic on way in morning,

and crank up some MP3 or country stations on way home while setting in traffic)

Hifi, you are right.

it DOES ALOT with the DVD movie, but much of it is just setup:

-language

-subtitles

-angles (veggie tales don't have these :)

moving around, fwd & back (search & chapters)

so it's neat, and saves wear & tear on the screen. but once the movie is in motion, it's pretty much volume.

it would be NICE if you could use the remote to switch at least 3 Audio EQ settings (either a custom or preset EQ)

--music: lots of bass & treble -music

--vocals: all midrange, bass & treble steeply rolled off - talk radio (bluetooth?)

--movies: mids bumped for clarity, some bass, barely some treble.

i did figure this out today:

the rotatable knob will arrow up through FM presets, when you push it UP,

and side to side is SEEK and tunes thru the frequencies.

and the numbers on the remote are matched to the FM presets,

so i have the country stations the wife likes on preset 4 and 5, and you can just swap back and forth using the #4 and #5 button on the remote to skip commercials

the BAND button does function, so it will go through all 3 bands.

but that is really painful, because the BSM (best stations memory) only gets the same 6 stations in each band.

so that's pretty much useless.

i had a nice Kenwood in 1987 that had a feature where you could "span" the FM bands, it would BSM all 3 bands as a group, and you got 18 presets of different stations, rather than the same 6 repeated.

after using it today, it's worth $15, but i wish i had not bought 2 :(

The knob can be pressed up? I've tried this before, but it didn't do anything.

Because the up/down/left/right buttons are only usable for certain sources.

Perhaps you were trying to use them on a source that they don't do anything with.
