cntrylvr79
that's it. You have a bad connection on one of those two wires.

DJ Hellfire
Make sure the spot you used for ground is actually a good ground. All metal behind the dash is not always grounded. Get yourself a digital multimeter and see if the location you picked is a proper ground.
richard-2003msn
right now its grouned to wire harness and attached to factory harness..this shouldnt make a differnet should it??
cntrylvr79
depends on the vehicle. Some cars don't provide a ground in the factory harness. Even though the aftermarket harness has a ground pin in it.
HiFiSi
And some vehicle's harness grounds are just plain crappy. It never hurts to ground it all to the chassis instead.
DJ Hellfire
And some vehicle's harness grounds are just plain crappy. It never hurts to ground it all to the chassis instead. Exactly. I have an 01 Altima that I had an Alpine HU in. It would not work of the stock harness ground at all even though the factory radio did. So I had to ground it to the chasis in order for it to work. So every radio I ever installed after that, I just go straight for the chasis ground.
