Thank you for the information - I'll bet it is similar for Android, which is what I use. I know you can get Google Now to pop up when your phone is on desktop so it may then be possible to tie that to the steering wheel button.

I hate reviving dead threads, but no one on XDA can answer apparently, so I'll ask here. Does anyone know whether the steering wheel voice activation button and/or hang up and answer buttons now work with the AppRadio 3? They did not with the 2, and Pioneer support is too incompetent to give a straight answer. Neither PAC or Metra have answers on their sites, either.

I hope if he gets things to work he isn't so aloof with software direction.

The website is down and support has been waning for the better part of the year. Hope this isn't the end.

If you have an AppRadio 2, you also get music playback it seems. Perhaps get a broken screen iPod Touch 4th gen. and set it up with your iPhone 5 via WiFi? That would seem to be the cheapest solution...

I'm aware of the Lexerd glare screen cover. I still don't like having to use it. If you're considering purchasing something else, why would you not just get an Android phone and have full control via the head unit?

I'll try this weekend when I'm at the installer. Push-to-Talk will not work. I am going to see if Mute, Band, Play/Enter, On Hook, Off Hook, Fan Up, Fan Down, Temp Up, or Temp Down, are passed through by the head unit. If they are, we can get those buttons set to do things on the AppRadio. I highly doubt they will work, though, as Pioneer went minimalist on pretty much everything. I mean, how hard would it have been to enable A2DP with their Parrot Bluetooth module? Pioneer didn't even develop it and still didn't get it enabled!

Broken screen or new one?

I think Pioneer's website says 4th gen only for that. I would suggest getting a broken screen iPhone (an iPod Classic will play music I believe, but not sure about AdvancedApp Mode. Pioneer is not consistent on their website with what does and does not work) if you want a cheap solution for full control. Since you have an iPhone 5, you are not due up for a new phone any time I'd imagine, soon so that will be the cheapest solution. If you are made of money, though, I'd graduate to a big boy (ha, couldn't resist!) phone and Android. With the advent of ARLiberator for Android, you have unlimited

1. I don't understand...it sounds like you already tried and want to know if there's a workaround? 2. Pioneer does not have an adapter for iPhone 5 since they changed the connector. I'm not sure you have options other than Bluetooth calls from it. 3. I'll let an avid Apple user answer this. I'm not sure.

So after finally getting a straight answer out of Pioneer, it seems there is no voice dialing.

Surely someone has gotten it to work has difinitely found out that it will not...
