Ok, just want to get an understanding on this. I downloaded the file named "ir" from rapidshare, along with a license. I placed the license in the license folder next to the other one. Now am I to simply copy this onto the flash memory of the AVIC?

If so, will this replace or alter any modifications that may currently be on my unit?

And is my ending result the most updated maps?

(All I really want is an updated map, since there are problems and alot of outdated things with the current map file I am using on my unit.)

Yes - If you copy the licence file and and the hacked eazyrider.exe to the flash memory, you will be able to use updated maps...

But you still have to buy (or find) new maps. If you are not too worried about copyright issues, they can be found on the internet in version 2008.10.

As mentioned elsewhere in this thread make sure to look for IGO8.0 maps, as IGO8.3 wont work.

Yea, they are all the same. I used the same maps i had on my WM6 phone.

I also heard people deleting maps they won't use(such as Europe, etc..) to make the unit go faster.

Yes you can do that and it does work. The maps are in APL2\Igo\content\maps

Except, of course, for the fact that US-spec units do not have Europe maps on them, and deleting state maps will not make anything any faster anyway...

So it would be on a state-by-state basis? Ah, it's not worth it. I'd probably end up lost in some state that I deleted one day and my GPS wouldn't be able to help me.

Maps require an appropriate license file to be used. EZRider on the unit works only with Pioneer's license file which in turn only works with maps Pioneer gave us. Hacked EZRider works with any iGO 8 license file, so you can use newer maps until Pioneer gives us an official update...

I got the ezrider and license file on the unit, but I wasn't able to get the DATA and SYS because it conflicted with my modifications. However, the unit still booted up fine. Will I notice anything different with that version of EZRIDER?

You have a very wrong SYS.TXT...

Hacked ezrider is identical to Pioneer's one in every respect except for license support...

Hmmm, odd. I got that sys.txt from one of the links in here. Is there much different in the file? If someone could tell me what's in there I could just add it myself.

Started a new thread on 3D Buildings as a how to with files linked.

Sys.txt and the data.zip are there as well.

I've updated my uk maps from 2008.01 to 2008.07 but both show in the map info list. When I updated from 2007.10 to 2008.01 the 2008.01 maps was the only one that showed. Does this mean 2008.07 maps aren't working?

i think 2008.7 maps need to be patched to work on (older 8.0.0.xx) igo versions..

Is anyone able to post the maps for Europe. I know it's a lot to ask but having it broken up and incomplete on rapidshare sucks.
