when i try to install the germany map, it takes forever and then it just stops, and i have to try again. the last time it finished and did copy over, a window popped up that said restoring and it was gone. wtf?

What unit model do you have?

It shouldn't install or anything. You just go to test mode and copy the germany.fbl to the map folder.license to license folder, germany poi to poi folder and germany.3dl to building folder. Also you need ezrider.exe file and overwrite the original one in iGo folder.

Remember to back up anything you gonna change before you proceed.

I didn't hear or read about any installing required, but I might be wrong here.

by install i meant copy. the weird thing is twice when i was tyring to copy it just dissappeared halfway through, then once i got it to copy a small window that said restoring popped up and the german map vanished. i was very much pissed off considering it took a while to do

I loaded the UK 2008.07 UK maps, poi and buildings and 2008.01 WestEUMAJOR ones as well. I left all of my US maps on there, I imagine this may affect the boot time, but I'm not too worried about it. As long as they all fit, I figured I was ok.

One question, what are the FYROM8_2008.07 maps? I noticed them in the Europe downloads, but haven't been able to figure out what they're for.

i have a f900bt from us.. and live in norway..

i called the pioneer service.. and they told me its locked to us only.. the .zip file in the linke above.. how do i fix it with the player ?

8R3 = 8.3 says so right there. Nothing we haven't seen yet, though.

How can i Boot the unit in test mode ?

Boot the unit in Tets Mode.

 

Open APL2\IGO folder on the AVIC and make a backup copy of ezrider.exe (this is the main Navi program).

 

Copy ezrider.exe from this forum over the one you just backed up.

 

Copy a licrense file (.lic) to APL2\igo\license

 

Copy iGO 8 map of Brazil to APL2\iGO\Content\Map.

 

Reboot the unit. You shoulds have working maps of Brazil now.

Also is it possible to do it on units with 3.0 update. For example for new x series? Also i saw sotmethere that people are runing igo 8.3 on avic. Anybody here done this. thanks

I just installed an X920BT and I am moving to Germany with the Military. Can you use this hack to load European maps to this newer model? Kenwood claims European maps work in their head units. Thanks.

Did you manage to make your USA GPS read a European map DVD's?

I had an European AVIC X1R but was stolen, and I have the original maps. I bought recently a USA version N5, with original american maps, but is not able to read the European maps. i guess there are some firmware differences?
