I agree with gruvncubn, leetlauncher proves hat its all about software/firmware If I were leetcoder, I would sell it to pioneer and say here now fire your stupid programmers, get new ones, and get your head out of your ass!

I dont know leetcoder's experience, but I thought a big company like pioneer would go get the best of the best, well who knows maybe leetcoder is better then the best hes the bestest! Either way, its sad how one man created something better then pioneer even in BETA.

Brad :)

The one thing that Leetcoder had that Pioneer didn't was this forum and it's feedback. I am telling you I am extremely amazed how well he put that together. If I was the head of Pioneer I would be reverse engineering the Leetloader... lol!

If you check the figure attached taken from the F9110BT press report you can conclude that this new unit uses different map (as it is capable to display sign post that is a new function of igo8.3.2).

Therefore if we assume that all the F-Series has to work with the same software, it has to exist a firmware update and the change is so huge to call it 3.0XX.

Obviously it there are claims about other aspects I hope that this aspects will be also dealed.

Nevertheless I have the feeling that Pioneer is more responsive if you issue your problems in a Youtube video (remember that they report the 2.0 updates changes also on a youtube video) that can be seen worlwide (if someonle search F-900BT in youtube) that any complain in our fourm.

Looks like it can't be too far out: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... n=overview

On the link below it is shown the follow image:

Looks like there are indeed new models coming. I got curious on that page, so I viewed the page source, and look at the metadata entries at the head of the page:

Right there you have your new model numbers!

Couldn' t agree more!

Looks like the knob business has a future LOL.

It looks like the pioneer logo is in a different place and it has a new knob. Here is the pic changed up a bit so you can see a little bit better.

I'm happy with my F90bt, just give me an update for faster boot up and response times!

Ditto!

Post updated with images (F310 or U310 is originally downloaded from pioneer EU; the other two are made by cut and paste but sure will be quite the same)!!

So what does this mean? The new US model that's supposedly coming is probably AVIC-X910BT?

Probably. Also interesting to note that the Navi and AV boards are not shared with the F90/F900BT, so there may also be some improvements to the design instead of just a difference in firmware.

I really hoping that they did a full tear down and rebuild from scratch on the F series FW to make it like the new series. It seems that the hardware is decent enough to do what we need it to. I mean, I played around with leetlauncher and response was overall pretty quick and startup time was very quick. It's just Pioneer's first foray into the world of coding for a WinCE device and the lack of experience that caused such sloppily written code. They have to have learned their lesson by now and realized that they can't expect to stay competitive in the niche market of aftermarket Nav units with bugs like the F series has had/still has.

I'm hoping for a full tear down and rebuild of the code along with new Igo so I won't be tempted to buy a new unit. That way I can invest more money into better speakers/sub/amps for the car. Though, that new knob is awfully appealing! Must... resist... lol, j/k. Hardware wise, I'm betting things will stay the same. God knows they have a ton of the motherboards sitting unused in a warehouse. It would be much cheaper and in the best interest of Pioneer to rewrite the Avic software the RIGHT way, refresh the model numbers/faceplates to shed the negative stigma of the F series, and then put out a new FW for the F series people since they sure as hell deserve it.

TMC traffic logo is stamped on the F series unit in the pic. I wonder if they are going to get rid of MSN direct.

I would guess that's only because those pictures are from the European lineup. The MSN service is much more established in the U.S.

Thanx for the info Jason, well if the new F series is worth the upgrade then I may do it, unless the 3.0 firmware makes the difference on the models we have now..

funny to see that the logo print of the X900BT still says F900BT...

I talked to pioneer in early may 2009 to an engineer that works at pioneer and he told me that update 3.0 will come out in late june and it,s not for free he did,nt have a price he could tell me.

Well there had better be new maps or else thats horseshit!!! Ans they better not be teleatlas either!! DId you ask the pioneer dude if that was the case???
