I just ordered p10 for f90bt not realizing p20 was already available. Should i get p20 instead. is there any significant difference between the two? after going through this thread it seems that the consensus is that there isnt much. I am getting my f90bt installed in a week or so..i would rather put a P20 if it better than p10

I haven't used the P20 but the P10 works as expected with the exception of visible presets. It basically only shows you the numbers and which FM band you're viewing. I only wish you could manually set the preset text somehow.

Just installed the p20 over the weekend and I like it just again have the same issue with blank presets (f700bt) and the only other thing I notice is the audio goes analog to digital a lot, also has a tendency for the volume to go up and down ever so slightly, does anyone know how to boost the signal?

Hi everyone.

I just installed the p20 on a f700bt. I too have the same issue with the presets that everyone else is having a problem with. I agree with another post here...this is completely unacceptable. Anyways, once all the presets are in (with the f700bt, I have 3FM bands), I expect to just switch through all my presets from the main screen.

I do have another issue though that is quite annoying, since it seems like nobody else has this problem. I have absolutely no AM reception. I select HD as the source and then switch my band to AM...but get nothing..Does anyone know why this might be?

thanks!

Did you try a BSM search while in AM?

Posted Oct 26, 2009 · 19:47 UTC#56

What is that? A BSM Search?

I tried googling, no dice.

Is this something that needs to be done for AM to work?

Posted Oct 26, 2009 · 20:23 UTC#57

On the AM screen > function > BSM > on

All it does is programs your AM presets to the best signal match. Just an easy way to see if you got channels.

Do I do this from within the HDRadio icon? I was under the impression that since my HDRadio is using the antenna my AM/FM band icons from AV Sources are disabled. (in fact I tried looking for stations and it didnt work). I'll try BSM. Could it be a bad HDRadio? Does the p20 support AM?

I have a P10 and mine does AM and AM HD just like the FM. I also used the antenna splitter because i use MSN which uses the FM signal.

Yes do this within the HDRadio icon. You have to press Band i think 4 times to get to AM.

Cigga,

thanks for the information. So the fact that I'm not getting any AM within the HDRadio Icon is bad (probably faulty p20, I'm thinking). Also, where can I find an antenna splitter? I'm thinking of using one to get regular FM/AM as well as HD. Someone mentioned they bought one on crutchfield, but I didn't find anything there.

thanks!

Nice, although I think I need one end of it to be at least 5 or 6 feet (to reach my HD receiver).

I'll search around or ask this reseller on ebay. So do you think my p20 is broken since I'm getting no AM?

thanks for all your help!

posssibly broken.

Your P20 shouldve came with a significant length of cable so you probably need an extension. How are you connecting your car antenna to the P20 5ft away? Isnt the car antenna normally behind the stereo?

the p20 is under the backseat. I ran the wire from the antenna (behind the stereo) to the tuner.

Is there an unsatisfactory owner of either willing to sell it to me?

Hi,

I was wondering if you solved the no AM problem. I have an AVIC-X910BT hooked up to the p20 and get fm but no am...I'm thinking an antenna splitter to hook up the head unit might be a solution, but thought that the hd unit was all that needed to hook up to the antenna.

Ok... I've got no AM either.... I'm not running a splitter either....

That's three of us with NO AM!

What a serious POS. I can't believe there is no support from Pioneer regarding this....

Any suggestions guys? (other than getting an ANT splitter and using the regular AM/FM along with FMHD).

Ok so you guys have the P20 installed and only get FMHD and no AMHD? That seems very strange. Do you get 2 bands of FM?

I have the f900 and in the HD Radio app, i press "Band" 3 times i think to get to AM. FM1, FM2, AM...ok i press it twice.
