I saw that Pioneer has released a new map and software update (cnsd-100fm) for the F900 on their european website, which among other features seems to have fixed to 2D head up problem.

Does any one know if this is the long awaited "3.0 update", or just a minor fix to the existing software?

can you please post an URL ? I can't seem to find it on the dutch or UK site.

Confirmed :

The SD card also contains new software features, including:

• Highway signboard navigation

• Improved contrast on display

• Heading-up in 2D mode

• Faster touch panel response

It's the 3.0 With iGO 8.3 (signboards)

Are you sure this is the new firmware update 3.0 and igo 8.3 with the 2009.02 maps because this are the newest tele atlas maps at the moment :?::wink:

This is not 3.0 as there are only a few "nice to haves" included not a single real bug.

IGO 8.3 uses Navteq maps not Teleatlas anymore.

Hotline is closed for the day over here in Europe, maybe one of the US guys can shed light on this.

See you

8.3 can use both Navteq and TeleAtlas. Signboard navigation and track-up in 2D are definitive indicators of iGO 8.3 though.

Correction, Pioneer European Hotline was still open and is now aware of the update

As usual quality communication within Pioneer

See you tomorrow

What can we find on this SD cart, what is the price and where to buy :?::?

Pioneer said "every Map Update is € 279,--"

Posted Jun 02, 2009 · 20:53 UTC#13

Hmmm,

I wonder if you're going to have to purchase a sd card to do the 3.0 update due to it now being free. Also, I wonder if it's encrypted in a way so you can't copy it. It would make some sense for them to do that since they supposedly will be charging for the update.

All these updates look specific to the map software, and according to the google:

279 Euros = 399.5001 U.S. dollars

They can suck my left nut if they expect $400 (more than you can get the F700 for) just for a map update.

I suppose the F500 owners will have to wait a bit longer for this one as well, or.....?

Not sure why it took so long to get the software update for F500 last time. I just hope they release it, i'm not sure if they are going to update this model (haven't seen any mention of a hardware update like the other models).

Absolutely... even BMW didn't try to ream me for anything close to that for a map update.

the sd card wont have to be in there 24/7 right? just load it up once and thats it?

when it does hit the US, couldnt we just all share it? we all get some money together, then send it down the line

Actually they released the update for the F500 (CNSD-150FM) at the same time...

I wouldn't be too worried about the European price. That price probably includes VAT and other additional costs that don't exist in the US. There are a lot of products sold in the US that go for much more on the other side of the pond.

yep, see:

Cool. thanks for the info...good to know. i think f500 owners had t owait longer for the 2.0 update (at least in the US).
