upd 29.12.2010 update for 3.020200 version, UC or EW

with a new phone call - AVIC always switch to MAP screen.

i attach modified \My Flash Disk\APL\Tel.exe,

after his replacement, when an incoming call on AVIC remains an old window.

This is a test version, since I do not use the phone with AVIC. (please leave feedback about problems)

avic_f900_v322_Tel.exe_wo.map.rar (required to rewrite and restart)

old post:

my f90bt always show me error screen, so, i always need press OK twice.

i don't understand, how to disable both nag screen.

for first - i can edit speed setting in config file, but for second error - no any way at search.

so, i found 3 screen for navi warning at my avic

map

destination

setting->navi

but in avic software i just found and skipped only first two screen,

also my avic UC (US) version, so it can tested only at UC software.

guys, if anybody has time, please test. thanks.

i just tried and it and guess what, IT WORKS, anyone else want to confirm this?

Maybe I'm just dislexic but exactly which warning does this remove? I'm a little confused (like normal! haha!).

Sweet! As soon as I get home from work, I'll definitely have to try this out! Thanks carver!

eveyone might want to hold off for a while, couple things i've noticed

-pressing map hard button--->navi warning won't show up

-pressing destination menu--->navi warning won't show up

-pressing setting/navi settings--->navi warning still shows up

-pressing map on av screen--->navi warning will show up

-if unit was restarted and it was on the navi screen before restarting--->navi warning still shows up

the test i did was every boot up,

i thik we're one step closer,

thanks carver for this, hope you get the rest figured out

Carver, can you please explain how you managed to veiw the code in the mainmenu file?

did you have disassemble it or some thing?

Dave.

Yes,..do tell :)

-pressing map hard button--->navi warning won't show up

-pressing destination menu--->navi warning won't show up

This is because carver's nuked the messages from MainMenu.exe

-pressing setting/navi settings--->navi warning still shows up

That menu's in a different .exe. My bet is because the message is sent by SystemSettings.exe on that screen instead of MainMenu.exe.

-pressing map on av screen--->navi warning will show up

Again, different .exe (Av.exe). AV.exe sending the message instead of MainMenu.exe...?

-if unit was restarted and it was on the navi screen before restarting--->navi warning still shows up

SystemSettings.exe or Navi.exe, maybe?

carver, I'm willing to lend a hand in the effort if you can outline how you caught the messages coming from MainMenu.exe.

2 FourG, i naven't time for answer at this moment, and my english very very bad :(

but i find other way for fix navi warning, and i just go test is,

so, if anybody want test with me, please return original mainmenu.exe,

and repleace CommonLib.dll from this attachment.

avic_uc_v2_navi_warning_fix1.rar

sorry, at this moment i don't fix parking brake warning, i try it later, but need time,

or anybody can compare attachment with original file and try do it.

Posted Jun 20, 2009 · 17:29 UTC#11

hey carver,

since i started the using the hacked exe i've experienced some random reboots, sometimes after a call the unit would just reboot, sometime when i have a route it just reboots, i think i'll just revert to the stock and live with pressing the OK

Tests Run, PASS=no warning message, FAIL=still get warning message:

-pressing map hard button---> PASS

-pressing destination menu--->PASS

-pressing setting/navi settings--->PASS

-pressing map on av screen--->PASS

-if unit was restarted and it was on the navi screen before restarting--->FAIL

-if unit was restarted and it was on an AV screen before restarting, then press map on av screen--->PASS

-if unit was restarted and it was on an AV screen before restarting, then press map hard button--->PASS

Getting closer, looks like the cold boot to Navi path doesn't involve a message that goes through CommonLib.dll... :D

Posted Jun 23, 2009 · 02:19 UTC#13

Just confirming that this also works for me. Appears to have gotten rid of the warning for all means I have found to get it to show up (except cold boot directly to Navigation). I have yet to experience any crashs/reboots, but i'll keep everyone updated!

Posted Jun 23, 2009 · 15:37 UTC#14

I'll put this through the paces when I get home and let you know how it works on a 700bt. Thanks a lot once again everyone!

Posted Jun 23, 2009 · 23:31 UTC#15

carver, what program are you using to modify the .dll file? I would like to compare a file to see your changes.

I have an Aussie F900BT (similar to the EW version). Does this file only work with the UC version?

I tried it. So far, it works as FourG has said. I have no probs, all is well, & no nagging nav mess except on cold startup if already on the nav screen. Love it. Thanks Carver, and all the others who are working on these things. Just letting you know it works for me, and I like it!

Thanks again.

Now if we can just figure out that last piece of the puzzle to get rid of it altogether....

Posted Jun 24, 2009 · 12:49 UTC#17

Anyone tested this on an european avic f700bt ?

I will try it this weekend.

I have a AU model which is very similar to the EW model. Going to try it this weekend too. Let me know how you get on and I will do the same.

Posted Jun 25, 2009 · 23:45 UTC#19

Been working great on my (F900BT - US) unit for about 3 days now...

Thx,

Ben

Posted Jun 25, 2009 · 23:54 UTC#20

Mine as well! (F90BT-US)

Posted Jun 28, 2009 · 04:16 UTC#21

I put this on my Aussie (AU) F900BT and it works fine so the EW should be okay too (both units are very similar). The only time the warning comes up is when the unit is left on map as previously posted. I might be wrong but I also thought that the txt was different to my standard AU message. I'm going to put the old one back and check when I get 5 mins to myself.

Posted Jun 29, 2009 · 18:37 UTC#22

I installed this upgrade to my European device and it works as expected! Thanks!

Posted Jun 29, 2009 · 19:47 UTC#23

I installed this hack.

However there are TWO times when the Navi Warning comes up:

After a restart when it was left on the Map Screen.

After a restart when it was left on the Main Menu.

but all other combinations work.

EDIT:

This hack no longer works in 3.0.

Posted Jul 25, 2009 · 23:14 UTC#24

Carver:

What disassembler did you use to read the DLL? IDA Pro?

Posted Jul 28, 2009 · 06:33 UTC#25
This hack no longer works in 3.0.

for 3 version please use 3 version file.

it also posted in first post.

2 pwnin o'brien , yes ida.
