I've now been able to get the wince update to go to was 64%, but it usually it gets to 28% before going black. My truck battery did go dead, but even with the truck running it fails. Not sure if it my weak car battery or something with the radio system?

I did it to mine and it's simple. I have a friend who is in with pioneer and I used to be a technician. Its not a matter of doing it. I can do it, I just don't know from the files I have whether or not there is supposed to be something within Dumpfiles folder? Mine from my backup has a file, the one I downloaded does not. Other than that I think I have everything. I understand you're trying to help, but if I had 50 bucks I wouldn't be trying to piece together the correct files on my own, I would order the pioneer cards. Things are a bit unorganized and wide spread throughout the forum. Finding the right stuff is a challenge.

has anyone been able to review the comparison of the files that I did on pg 49? I want to do this but the file difference worry me.
As for the dump files, I took a look at my 2.0 upgrade and there are no files in it, and my unit works. The 2.006 and 2.008 upgrades didnt even seem to have dump files associated with them.
I'm now comparing the 2.008 upgrade to 3.0 and thats where I have issues. the overwrite appears to want to overwrite files that I think need to be there, and add files that werent there to begin with. If someone familiar with these files can review this I would greatly appreciate it.

Make sure you get good files that aren't corrupt...idk what was up with mine but sticks got me all squared away
i dl'ed the 2 rar files from megaupload, extracted the 1st one which automatically extraced the 2nd. Are these correct files or corrupt files?

wOOHOO, got this done! The key in my case was holding the 4 buttons and hearing the "pop" noise. Once I heard that, and got to the wince upgrade section it went to 100% and said all was good and to restart. I guess I wasn't holding all 4 long enough for the pop or something. I have now also upgraded the maps, poi,dem, building etc. to the 2009.6 maps. My firmware says, map v.200.300, and v.300.300 (or close that)
BTW, despite getting NO response as to whether or not there should be files in the "Dumpfiles" folder I copied the files I had from my backup to there. Not sure if it should be empty or not.
The only things I've noticed now is when I go to search an address it defaults to a completely different state about 800 miles from me, and I can't seem to find out how to delete the present "home location"

That folder is supposed to be empty.

That would be correct. Its a multipart RAR file so by extracting the first one, it knows to automatically move on to the next file.

Mine loads everything 100% reads it, writes it, CE upgrade complete, restart,Splash Screen, Black Screen!!!
Now I cant even get in to test mode before it was going into test mode then i would do the reset and eject for 5 seconds then it would restart up splash screen then black.... Idk what to do
To fix the above, power on with reset held. Then reflash using the official 2.06 update and it'll be fine.
I get the same thing on my F500BT. I'm using the 3.020200 EW dump that someone posted.
I've tried the following:
1. Flash wince, result: black screen. Does not power up.
2. Flash wince from 2.06 update, it gets stuck on blue wave. Analysis shows that it's missing loading.bmp from the 800_480 directory. Replacement with data.zip with 800_480 does not work.
3. 2.06 wince, APL2 from 2.06 update causes crashes and does not boot.
4. 2.06 wince, Igo8.3.2 from other sources functions as a GPS only. The coreplayer, BT and other functions do not work since it looks like those programs and services are not loaded. This means that the Igo directory is loaded on boot and the ezrider.exe has hooks to the other services.
I find it quite odd that the error logs show that the Pioneer upgrades don't have the 800_480 icons in the data.zip that's included.
I'm going to experiment some more... if all else fails, I'll just run Igo Amigo 8.4.3.115042 with the Dimka skin. It'd be nice to have BT and voice...

Copy everything that was extracted to the SD Card.
Then when you put it in the AVIC, you copy the contents of the My Flash Disk Folder to the My Flash Disk Drive.
Yeah the wording of "copy flash dump to My Flash Disk" is a bit unclear. I had the same issue. I wasn't sure what "flash dump" was supposed to mean. Basically like MyIT said, extract the contents from the DL'ed zip file to the SD, then copy them onto the AVIC into the corresponding locations.
just did the 3.02 from the X910 on my F90BT and it worked perfectly. Going to do the latest bluetooth stack next

Step 9: Delete all of the files off the SD card and put the testmode folder, DATA file, and the flash dump from torrent on.
I do not have a DATA.zip in the files I just downloaded - is this the data FOLDER not a zip file?
OK, So I re d/l'ed everything on my PC instead of my Mac. Used Winrar and now it doesn't reboot by itself!! In fact everything is perfect!THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP! I couldn't have done any of it without all this information I received! 1 question I do have, what iPods are compatable with this 3.0? Will I be able to watch movies from my iPod on it, if not, are there any mods/hacks that will allow such usage? THANK AGAIN!!! you guys rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
