I am having problems unzipping the x910bt. zip. torrent file in step one. I have downloaded it but winzip can't open it. Need suggestion.

winrar to open it

When I try with Winrar I get an error saying it is the wrong format or the file is damaged. I have deleted the file and downloaded it a few times with the same results.

I have the AVIC 700 and I followed all the steps on the outline of the installing guide. When I reach the last step of holding the reset and eject for 5 secs, it reboots and shows me the background screen for a min and then goes black, the whole system turns off

Just set the Smart Zoom to be lower in the Navigation Settings.

does this include the maps too? or just firmware update?

After walking through all the steps, everything looks to be ok but the system constantly reboots every 5 minutes. I hear the new button sounds, and can check the system info and it shows I am running 3.0 firmware. But the "System Startup" message never goes away, and the whole unit reboots after 5 minutes.

 

I am thinking it is the WinCE update. When booting into testmode, and checking the WinCE version, it shows that it is 5.0. I thought I read here (somewhere??) that it should be 6.x. I grabbed all the files from page one in this thread, and didn't get any errors at any stage. I am running a F900BT. Any help would be much appriciated!

I have the same problem! but now i fix it!!

wat jou must do

1: take APl Folder out x710/910 Update (pioneer update)

2: Copy it to Flash disk (best to do ereaz the original en put this one back)

3: then hackt ez-to apl2 (first ereaz old one then put this one in) if jou have V2.7 on it take EZ 2007

4: Reboot to bleu screen whit the butten map eject reset. enz look on the forum how to do

5: put on a sd kaart WINCEIMG.BIN WINCEIMG.CKS from update V3 Pioneer websit

6: put in sd kaart after step 5 and upgrade CE (not whit format!!) (works for me)

7:Then reboot and it is workingfor me

I had the same issue, but it occured with pioneer 3.01 update. Tried three times to no avail. The system rebooted after 5 minutes. I coud use radio and could see top menu and most of the selections. Got new sounds etc. Just not the map screen.

I fixed it by using completly different SD card. I also unzipped the files on Windows Vista instead of using my MacBook.THATS ALL.

I have to add that upgrading to 3.0 was NOT an issue using this particular SD card and extracting files on the MacBook. and the 3.0 was over 1.5 GB. GO FIGURE!

Just for a small addtion - I saw on here that someone had to delete the contents of the "My Flash Disk" before adding the files due to a lot of modifications. I had to do that as well to get the update to work. Just in case that helps others having some trouble.

Unzip the X910BT.zip file you downloaded. Inside, take the 'My Flash Disk' folder and copy it to the SD card. In Testmode, copy the contents of that folder into the AVIC's 'My Flash Disk' folder.

I am wonder if all hacks are done in the config folder. I am thinking about going into the config folder in 3.0 and puting some of the changes that was done in my 2.0 hack in order to keep them. I that is how its done, do I need to do anything else in any other folder? I really dont want to lose the mods that I have. I understand html so I dont think it should be hard to mode if I am correct in what I am asking. I am looking for a version of the terrant that works. When I open the one that is given, it shows a bunch of jiberish charectors. Is that what its sopose to be?

Save the torrent file locally and open it in your bit torrent client. For some reason the file handling doesn't seem to work properly to launch the torrent client with that link. Don't know why...

i just updated and wow what a diff in speed! My map version says 2.000400 is the new maps?

Is that on the 3.0 update or 3.01? My map version is 2.0003 with the 3.0.

Is it that serious of a thing. All I did was ask a question and it was answered. I thought the purpose of this forum was to ask questions regardless of how simle the may be to others. I rearly post, ask question or anything on this forum. I normally just read and go from there. You may be well versed in this area, I if thats the case hats off to you. Its no need to cause someone not to want to visit the forum again because of comments like you are making.

Does anyone know if the official 3.0 SD cards being shipped from Pioneer will perform the WinCE update too? I have yet to see a fool-proof, average consumer-friendly method of doing this.

I can't imagine Pioneer will expect customers to jump through this many hoops with swapping SD cards, booting into testmode, etc for this update. I have read about SO many nightmares with using the official Pioneer updaters that I am hardly willing to try this method.

Don't get me wrong, I am not knocking anyone for providing this solution as it's obviously awesome. Just wondering if anyone knows how the official updater will function?
