Hi All

Ive got the same problem some people are having, I have "System is starting up" stuck on the screen, The buttons are changing colour and it restarts after 5 mins.

It seems to be the way everyone is extracting the files and what SD card they are using.

Im using windows 7 and have tried winrar & winzip both with the same results.

Im using a transcend 4gb NON SDHC SD card.

First thing to check, Is the torrent download 1.52gb? It says 1.59 in the first post.

Thanks

Mathew

Oh and another thing, How come my splash screen is still there? Surely this is a hard reset on these devices?

Posted Dec 15, 2009 · 05:09 UTC#203

Worked out well.

Thanks for the files!

Brisk... where did you get the X910bt.zip file? The torrent mentioned on this thread is dead and I can't seem to find a source for it.

The torrent works fine for me, Fast download!

Still cant get mine to work, Tried a different PC and software. Re-downloaded all the files and still get the startup message stuck on screen!

Only thing is to try a different SD card but i dont have one, It seems to be copying all the files correct but its not playing ball!

Your joking right? I left the torrent running for 36 hours and had zero data downloaded. Did you use the torrent mentioned on page one of this post or did you use a different one?

EDIT: OK.. turns out I'm a douchebag... the torrent wont work if you use Vuze (which is what I was using) but the torrent appears to be working in the regular Bittorent software (http://www.bittorent.com).

I'm ready to pull the trigger on this 3.0 update but have a couple questions:

1 - What is the correct method to create a complete backup of your current unit before doing this (just in case). I'm planning on backing up the "My Flash Disck" folder from my unit but what else should I back up to make sure I can revert back to my units current state (which is 2.0) if I encounter issues?

2 - If this install fails and I need to revert back to firmware 2.0, how do I return back to my old version of CE? The 3.0 update installs a new version of CE using WINCEIMG.BIN AND WINCEIMG.CKS but I want to make sure I can install the old version if things go haywire.

****never mind****

I found this file on megauploads. installed it on a f900bt no problems, the guide seems daunting but it is far easier to do than to read. I have no idea why the guide maker used 3 sd cards, cant figure that out, one card works fine.

Posted Dec 29, 2009 · 11:33 UTC#210

OK - having trouble getting hold of the last file (for SD3)

The account has been disabled and i can't seem to get it on Megauploads (bigger than 1gig, so gotta pay for it)

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=36VGFWTD for anybody who's got an account though :)

Anybody got another one that they can PM me a link?

Cheers,

Scoob :)

Finally did the update. Thanks dragon24 and AVIC411. I had no issues at all another f700bt updated to 3.01. The guide isnt really that bad and it was REAL easy. Everything from the download to the install went smoothly for me. I used the 1 SD method because all of the files fit in a single 2gb card. For those who are having problems just use the one card method and place the testmode in as a folder and the image files in a folder as well and just have the 2 winCE update files in the root of the card.

M4T VW: your 4gb NON-sdhc card might not be compatible with the device? because anything that is over 2gb sd is NON-conventional so you can try to do the single card method. that worked for me.

Installed 3.0 in my 700bt, it was a clean walkthru. The touch screen response is far better.

Where did you get your 1.5gb file from? (If you don't mind my asking!)

So this update is fine to use with an US F900BT? Whst is the difference between the F90BT, F900BT and F700? With the last modification i did i had to delete the files before i could overwrite them because there wasnt enough space on the drive. Is is safe to just delete everything on flash disk and replace is with all the files included in the update?

Cheers

Here is everything you need in order to complete the upgrade as outlined in the original post, but with only 1 SD Card. I just recently picked up a F700BT that I updated this afternoon and love it...now I'm off to find some good mods =D

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=K0WJSCUR

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XDPTH67G

These files include the X Series WINCE Upgrade, Testmode 2.3 and the Backup Files/Maps.

Hope this helps others who may be having problems finding torrents and etc...

[edit]In Step 11.1, please copy the contents of the "My Flash Disk" folder on the SD Card to the My Flash Disk Drive on the AVIC Unit.

I've had 2 people contact me regarding issues, they read that item literally and copied the entire contents of the SD Card to their AVIC which doesn't work[/edit]

Thankyou so much. I was stressing after i did the upgrade with the megaupload upload after realising it was the IDT mod. Your a lifesaver... downloading them as we speak. Hopefully it works.

This worked well for me too -- thanks!! Here's what I did since I did not have a 2GB SD card handy:

[*] Copied WINCEIMG.BIN & WINCEIMG.CKS to the root directory of the SD card.

[*] Copied the testmode folder to the SD card

[*] Copied the back up files to a USB drive. (This is the large batch of files at around 1.6GB)

[*] Connected the USB drive to the USB port on the F90BT

[*] Followed the steps as described, but simply copied the back up files from the USB drive at the stage where you are in test mode using Windows CE. USB drives are generally faster than SD cards, but this is just an alternate way of accomplishing the same thing.

Later downloaded 3.101 F910BT update from the Pioneer web site and installed that. No problems so far.

Posted Jan 18, 2010 · 22:40 UTC#221

Did you get your firmware from the european pioneer site?? It looks like they have 2 firmwares available/ 1 for the avic f900bt and one for the avic f910bt.. Just to verify you downloaded the one for the 910bt instead of the 900bt?

Posted Jan 19, 2010 · 00:54 UTC#222

Thanks so much guys and avic411. Just upgraded my f90bt to 3.0 using Ray303 idea with the thumbdrive. Works Perfectly!! Now im on to upgrading to 3.02 :D

Posted Jan 19, 2010 · 08:24 UTC#223

Hi!

Can i update the 3.0 version directly on top of version 1.0?

or is needed 2.0 first update and then 3.0? :? and after that did "hacked" EZRIDER.exe works ( I use Europe Map on US F900BT)

Thanxx--

Just did this upgrade twice on my F7010BT

When hitting the map menu and eject buttons and htting reset i dont get a pop sound but if i release reset i hear the

cd drive and release eject and then i get the blue screen and can proceed as normal to do the update

Everything goes ok during the update and the unit restarts fine

Everything works except for bluetooth

when pressing the phone button the unit just beeps but wont change screens etc

When the unit starts up the bluetooth led flashes for a second and then goes out :(

Have done the update twice with the same results no phone no bluetooth

Have done a search but cant find much on this issue

Anyone have any ideas or can offer any help ?

If not where can i find the files to restore my unit to 2.0 with working bluetooth

Thanks

MM
