Yes, it's the same for all of them I think.

When I use WinRAR and open the Test Mode download, it complains about it being an incomplete file. Then when I extract the folder, it says the CRC check failed and the file might be corrupted, but then it does actually give me a testmode folder. Is that normal? It says the size of this unrar'd folder is 124kb, that doesn't seem to match up.

I have the 2.006 version and the hardware bypass(moved the mute wire to a different location) so that I can do the nav while driving. If I install the 3.0 will the hardware bypass work the same as before?

The hardware bypass works no matter what version you are on. At least that has been my experience with the past 4 updates I've done.

I appreciate the fast response. If I brick my unit but have backed it up before hand is it an easy process fixing it?

I think it's pretty easy. I requires patience, mostly. Just don't rush it. Don't try doing this right before needing to take a long road trip, having to go to work, etc. I have played around with my AVIC a lot, and I have yet to kill it to the point that it's needed to go back to Pioneer.

So I noticed that a few people had the problem I am having and there has been no solution posted so I would like to request it again.

When updating the WinCE files, my read progress reaches 100% and nothing happens after that.

I have tried the procedure over 20 times and waited different lenghts of time yet still no luck.

Does anybody know how to get past that damn step?

I can't get into testmode either because I can't update the WinCE files.

I have tried different wince files, different sd cards, different computers to copy files on the sd cards, basically everything but it just keeps getting stuck at that point.

Any help would be greatly appreciated since the only option would be to send this unit away to pioneer which I really don't want to do.

Did you try the four finger salute? Have the SD card with the WINCE files on it. Then turn on the car, press and hold the Menu, Map, Eject & Reset button at the same time for about 15 seconds. Release Reset, wait a few seconds, then release the others. I believe that is a hard reboot. When I did that with mine, it came up okay.

Also, how big is the SD card you are using, and what brand is it?

What about downloading from a different source? What files are on the flash disk you are working with?

Tried different sources as well as different versions. I haven't even made it to the part of the flash disk so that's not of concern at the moment. I was originally just using version 2.0 files but someone in another thread suggested that I use the 3.0 files and upgrade at the same time.

So in summary I have used 2 sets of version 2.0 files (2 different sources) and 1 set of version 3.0 files all with no success.

I don't think it's the files as many people have downloaded them and used them from the same source. I even tried downloading multiple times as well as unzipping multiple times AND doing both of those on another computer with no luck so there is something royally screwed with the deck or I'm still not doing something right.

I'll try and post a video tomorrow of what im doing exactly and whats happening which might help clear the air as the what my problem is.

If anyone has any other suggestions or solutions it would be great to hear

After many hours, a successful 3.01 install on my F700. Don't make my mistake and use WinCE files from 2.0. It will kill the upgrade.

everytime i insert the card with the files the navi system shows 0 files.

then i put the sd card back into the computer shows sd card invalid reformat

yes unzipped from torrent downloaded. folder called my flash disk which has apn, apn2 etc....

for some reason everytime i flash my sd cards tried 3 different companies 3 different sizes varying from 2gb to 8gb

then insert them into unit in testmode says sd card has 0 files in it.

but i checked and rechecked the card on the computer before putting it into the unit. and the files where there before.

As the torrent for the x910bt is not working. Any one know of a working torrent? On another note, My friend has a F910BT with 3.0 and I have a F900BT. Can I make a backup of his firmware and use it on my? By follwing the steps on page 1?.

It looks like the file may be available from a link in another post on a different thread. I grabbed what may be the correct file, but need a bit of help understanding the contents of what should be in the x910bt.zip file that used to be avaialble.

What were the contents of the x910bt.zip file when it was available? Was it just a data.zip file for the x910bt?

If the answer to the above question is yes, is there a way to look at the contents of one or more files in data.zip to see if they are in fact for the x910bt?
