Hello all,

Just recieved my update in the mail. I enter in my media number and device number and get incorrect device

number and error 1.

Double check everything. All ok.

I call pioneer and after 15 min and giving in all my info I am told the servers are based in Japan and down.

Anyone else not able to have their password generated recently?

Thanks

I'm having the same problem

I was told won't be fixed until Monday their time. So Sunday morning for us.

Wonder if they can manually generate a password for us.

Me too.

apparently Japan has been hit by the 3rd earthquake in a week... I hope they are all okay... too bad they didn't set up a mirror site, but I guess they have larger things to worry about right now.

I'm glad that i'm not the only one getting an error from pioneer's password tool website. I double checked my info and every time I would hit the submit button the following error would be generated.

*input device number is not correct .

(Error Code: 1)

Even called pioneer customer service and provided them with my device and media numbers and was told an engineer would have to look into the issue and call me back. Asked the customer service rep if she could generate my password provided I give her my deviec and media number's, her response was "nope".

Me too - another fine feather in Pioneer's cap. What a POS.

I am another one hit. Just got off the phone and was told to try every couple of hours yet it could be Monday untill it is repaired. Bummer I was looking forward to trying this out this weekend.

Thank god for this website, i always check before i go flipping out, . I see that im not the only one that was having problems getting the password. I tried changing zeros to Os noticed they were switched from the top on the sheet to the bottom on the website. Thought i was going nuts, or i just got scammed by Pioneer. I waited since the first week in July for this day, now its in my hands, and i gotta wait longer. EHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I have every intention of waiting a week now that I just got my upgrade via UPS and see what other issues other folks have first so I can learn from them.

Me Too same issues! What a load of crap! I too have been patiently waiting for this update for over a month, now i get it and this is what i get! Now i am officially annoyed with pioneer! I am sitting in my car typing this with half an update for the rest of the weekend.Seriously pioneer! I do feel bad for the earthquake victims but Come on!!

Posted Aug 15, 2009 · 00:22 UTC#12

Yeah - it's pretty bad that the best support you can get for their product is from a 3rd party website. I will never buy Pioneer again. Ever.

Posted Aug 15, 2009 · 00:44 UTC#13

I think their whole ploy is to make everyone give up on the update and go buy a new X series! I think that is why the new update took so long to be released, and now this!

add me to the list, same error.

got my update in a HUGE box too lol

ya know, I felt lucky with not having any problems with my F. Guess Pioneer had to fix that lol

add me to the list toooo !!!!!!!!!

Same here. Glad somebody got hold of Pioneer before they closed to find out what the problem is.

Thanks. Be patient folks. Poop happens even to the most prepared.

Ditto for me.

Pioneer DRM=fail.

Great experience we get for paying to legally acquire software. Especially considering how buggy it has been.

I got that giant box full of air pillows, too. But I need to send a watch off to be repaired, so at least now I don't have to pay the UPS store to pack it.

The 3.0 update for f series is actually newer wince then the new x series folks received.

Anyone have any luck yet? I lived in Japan for a couple years, they work a lot on saturdays, im keeping my fingers crossed it will be up soon. I can't tell you how aggrevated i am, been looking forward to this for, well a year! Since i bought the unit. Also where i live in Florida, AT&T just got 3G service today, finally, i got my iPhone 3G a year ago but didn't have 3G service where i live. A year later, i have it! Just happens to be the same day i get the 3.0 update for my AVIC. I knew it was all to good to be true.

Damn.! I was freaking out b4 since the password site wasnt working. I triple checked everything and still no good. Just checked this site and made me feel much better!

I got the sd cards in a cd case. But the CD case was in a huge box.. Seriously, the box was larger than a shoebox.

Posted Aug 15, 2009 · 07:59 UTC#22

Ok, I was about to flip out myself, when I saw this post. I loaded up card 1 with no problems, and tried to obtain the password, and I as well got the same message. And I also got the huge box with the CD and the air pillows, talk about a waste, they coudl have sent it parcel post and would have been cheaper.

This morning after clicking on submit it briefly flashes a red screen and then goes right back to "Invald Devcie Number" message.

Posted Aug 15, 2009 · 15:41 UTC#24

Yep same here. Input device number is not correct. Error code 1.

First update went thru just fine.

My version before the first update was 2.006000 now it is 2.100000. I thought it would be 3.0.

Or will it display 3.0 after i update with the 2nd card?

Has anyone actually got through to get a password? If so any news to report to the rest of us on functionality?
